Yesterday, while I went with my son to Centro Habana, we had to take care of the promotional stickers that we use to sell our products in “Chocolates Alile! To do this, we drove almost to the exit of the Bay Tunnel, where the work would be done. Once this management was finished and with the stickers in hand, we decided to take a little walk around the area, which is very beautiful and offers a rich cultural and historical experience. We took the opportunity to take some photos and participate in the #wednesdaywalk challenge, a space created some time ago by our friend @tattoodjay.
Ayer, mientras fui con mi hijo a Centro Habana, tuvimos que ocuparnos de las pegatinas promocionales que utilizamos para vender nuestros productos en "Chocolates Alile!. Para ello, nos dirigimos casi hasta la salida del Túnel de la Bahía, donde se realizaría el trabajo. Una vez terminada esta gestión y con las pegatinas en la mano, decidimos dar una pequeña vuelta por la zona, que es muy bonita y ofrece una rica experiencia cultural e histórica. Aprovechamos para hacer algunas fotos y participar en el reto #wednesdaywalk, un espacio creado hace tiempo por nuestro amigo @tattoodjay.
In front of the entrance to the Túnel de la Bahía is the large Parque 13 de Marzo, which encompasses the block between Capdevila, Avenida Bélgica, Zulueta and Refugios streets. In the center of the park stands the monument to our National Hero, José Martí. In the background you can see the old Presidential Palace, which currently serves as the National Museum and is under repair.
Frente a la entrada del Túnel de la Bahía se encuentra el gran Parque 13 de Marzo, que abarca la manzana comprendida entre las calles Capdevila, Avenida Bélgica, Zulueta y Refugios. En el centro del parque se alza el monumento a nuestro Héroe Nacional, José Martí. Al fondo se ve el antiguo Palacio Presidencial, que actualmente funciona como Museo Nacional y está en reparación.
The statue of José Martí, with a height of more than 10 meters and a base completely covered with polished black granite, is a representation of his fall in combat. This park is very spacious and has many benches that invite you to sit under the shade of the trees. One of the things I like most about this place is the abundant vegetation, something I love to find in the middle of the city.

If we look from the park towards the tunnel, we can also see another sculptural ensemble dedicated to another significant figure of the independence struggle: General Máximo Gómez. It seems as if both figures are looking at each other, united by history, watching over each other forever.

We walk around the park for a while before continuing on our way. It is comforting to find these historical monuments that mark our Cuban roots. José Martí's thought has endured to this day, and I firmly believe in his words when he said: “To be cultured is the only way to be free”.
Caminamos un poco por el parque antes de seguir nuestro camino. Es reconfortante encontrar estos monumentos históricos que marcan nuestras raíces cubanas.
