Five Alive is a rule set that limits the number of monsters that can be used on the field to 5, while the standard is 6. With this, you have to think about how to assemble a more compact team, as you'll have one less piece in attack or defense.
Five Alive Rule Set
Despite being a limiting rule set, it doesn't define the best teams to build. That's why you need to check out other rule sets that may come along with it, otherwise your options will be huge.
In my case, I faced a battle with this rule in combination with two others in a recent tournament. The first was Silenced Summoners, where summoners lose all their effects. The other was Tis But Scratches, where all monsters on the field receive the ability Cripple, reducing the target's maximum life by 1 point with each successful attack.
The amount of mana was quite limited too, only 22 points.
The tournament I was taking part in was Diamond Open, meaning that all the cards were available without having to own any of them. I like taking part, even if the reward isn't there, because it's nice to try out different strategies without having to rent the cards. And I managed to put together one that seemed to be quite effective, which I'll probably include among the most varied in the game.
In the front, I put Thane Newsong, a good support card that increases some of the allies' attributes and reduces the attack of the opposing team's Ranges.
Behind him, I put Queen Mycelia, another excellent support card. As well as adding 2 points of armor to my team, it reduces 2 points from the enemy team.
And to finish off, I placed a trio of monsters with the ability Opportunity, which always targets the opponent's card with the lowest amount of life on the field.

The summoner selected was Prince Julian, which costs only 2 mana points and since summoners have no effect on the field, it was the best option.
I think my opponent thought I'd come with a lot of Ranges, because he put in a tanker who has the reflexes for this type of attack, further increased by Amplify, the card behind him.
For the attack, his main weapon was a monster with the ability Sneak and magic attack, something that few cards have, being good for surprising.
This is how the battlefield looked after the buffs and debuffs. You can see that my strategy looked very good, as it left the opposing team very vulnerable in defense, and one of their main attackers would be the first target.
In the first round, the target of my trio managed to dodge 2 attacks because of the ability Blind, which was provided by another allied card. However, Runi doesn't miss because it has True Strike, an ability that prevents its attacks from missing. The Shin-Lo dragon is resurrected again by Oshuur, but it was still vulnerable and would probably be eliminated from the battle for good in the second round.
And that's what happened. In addition, another opponent's monster was eliminated, leaving me with an excellent advantage. Defeat seemed inevitable for my opponent.
Then, in round 4, the battle was won by my team.

The combination of monsters with Opportunity along with the ability Rust, which removes 2 armor points from the opposing team, is extremely efficient and can be a great addition for those looking for new strategies. One of the few ways to win against her is to use a monster with Taunt along with good supports or to use the summoner Lily Shieldpaw and put a good tanker in front. In this case, because of the rules, it would be more difficult for it to work and that's why the strategy used was and is quite efficient.

Five Alive é uma regra que limita o número de monstros que podem ser usados em campo para 5, sendo que o padrão é 6. Com isso, você deve pensar em como montar um time mais compactado, pois você terá uma peça a menos no ataque ou na defesa.

Apesar de ser um regra limitante, ela não define qual serão os melhores times a serem montados. Por isso, é necessário conferir outras regras que possam surgir junto com ela, do contrário suas opções serão grandes.
No meu caso, eu enfrentei uma batalha com essa regra, em combinação com outras duas em um torneio recente. A primeira era Silenced Summoners, onde invocadores perdem todos os seus efeitos. A outra era Tis But Scratches, onde todos os monstros em campo recebem a habilidade Cripple, reduzindo a vida máxima do alvo em 1 ponto a cada ataque bem sucedido.
A quantidade de mana era bastante limitada também, apenas 22 pontos.
O torneio a qual eu estava participando era Diamante Open, isto é, todas as cartas estavam disponíveis sem que fosse necessário ter posse de alguma delas. Eu gosto de participar, mesmo que a recompensa não exista, pois é legal testar diferentes estratégias sem que haja necessidade de alugar as cartas. E eu consegui montar uma que parecia ser bastante efetiva, que provavelmente incluirei entre as mais variadas existentes no jogo.
Na frente eu coloquei o Thane Newsong, uma boa carta de suporte, que aumenta alguns atributos dos aliados e reduz o ataque dos Ranges do time adversário.
Atrás dele, eu coloquei a Queen Mycelia, outra excelente carta de suporte. Além de adicionar 2 pontos de armadura a minha equipe, reduz 2 pontos do time inimigo.
E para finalizar, eu coloquei um trio de monstros com a habilidade Opportunity, que tem como alvo sempre a carta do adversário que estiver com a menor quantidade de vida em campo.

O invocador selecionado foi o Prince Julian, que custa apenas 2 pontos de mana e como invocadores não teriam efeito nenhum em campo, era a melhor opção.
Acredito que meu adversário imaginou que eu viesse com muitos Ranges, pois colocou um tanker que possui reflete para esse tipo de ataque, aumentando ainda mais com o Amplify que a carta que estava atrás dele.
Para o ataque, a sua principal arma era um monstro com a habilidade Sneak e de ataque mágico, algo que poucas cartas possuem, sendo bom para surpreender.
Assim ficou o campo de batalha após os buffs e debuffs. Veja que minha estratégia parecia muito boa, pois deixou o time adversário bastante vulnerável na defesa, e um de seus principais atacantes seria o primeiro alvo.
Na primeira rodada, o alvo do meu trio conseguiu se esquivar de 2 ataques por conta da habilidade Blind, que foi fornecida por outra carta aliada. Porém, o Runi não erra por possuir True Strike, habilidade que impede com que seus ataques falhem. O dragão Shin-Lo é ressuscitado novamente pela Oshuur, porém ainda estava vulnerável, e provavelmente seria eliminado de vez da batalha na segunda rodada.
E foi o que aconteceu. Além disso, mais um monstro adversário foi eliminado, me deixando em excelente vantagem. A derrota parecia inevitável para o meu adversário.
Então, na rodada de número 4 a batalha é vencida pelo meu time.

A combinação de monstros com Opportunity junto com a habilidade Rust, que remove 2 pontos de armadura da equipe adversária, é extremamente eficiente e pode ser uma ótima adição para quem busca novas estratégias. Uma das poucas formas de vencer contra ela, é utilizando um monstro com Taunt junto de bons suportes ou usar a invocadora Lily Shieldpaw e colocar um bom tanker na frente. Nesse caso, por conta das regras, seria mais difícil de funcionar e por isso a estratégia usada foi e é bastante eficiente.
