Hello everyone!

Recently, I was battling in Modern rankeds. Then I faced a battle, where I almost couldn't believe what happened.

The rulesets were:

Odd Ones Out: Only monsters with odd mana cost can be used.

Stampede: The ability Trample can be activated multiple times, if each attack eliminates an monster.

Ferocity: All monsters receive the ability Fury, dealing double damage to monsters with Taunt.

So I decided to put together a team that took advantage of the Stampede ruleset. I put a very little-used monster at the front, the Desert Dragon. Its abilities Trample and Piercing, the second one dealing damage to its target's life if it exceeds the amount of armor it has. I also fielded Venka The Vile, which has the same abilities and can attack from any position on the field.

I've also added 2 more monsters that attack twice a round, Carnage Titan and Delya.

Finally, going against what is recommended according to the rulesets, I added a monster with Taunt. It was the Iziar, positioned in the last position of the back line, used to increase Venka's attributes as soon as it was eliminated.

And the summoner I chose was Nidhoggr, where I could choose between two sets of abilities to give to 3 of my monsters, which would happen after I saw the opposing team.

My opponent used the summoner Cryptic, with two monsters that would impact my and his team's speed. In addition, he also added a monster with Taunt. Coeurl Lurker, which would be difficult to hit with an attack.

This was how both teams were positioned.

I decided to give the Desert Dragon, Venka and Carnage Titan the ability Execute, which causes its holders to cause a second attack on the opposing monster that is left with 2 life points or less after being attacked. They also gain an additional 2 points of speed.

In the first round, my team hit a single attack out of a possible 6, while two of my allies were eliminated.

In the second round, it got worse. No attacks hit.

In the third round, two more eliminations for my side, leaving only Venka, who suffered an attack and was left with 4 life points.
At that point, it seemed impossible to win, right?

Well, she proved otherwise...

Something totally unexpected happened. She attacked the first monster, and because it was down to 1 life point, she activated the ability Execute, and then the Trample was activated several times, until it reached the Coeurl Lurker, which, due to the Ferocity ruleset, suffered double damage. She still lost 3 life points because of the Lurker's Meele damage reflect, leaving only 1 life point at the end.

The battle was so epic, I had to share it on the server Discord. Before long, it was published on the official Splinterlands page on X.

I also won 3000 DECs from @blazekos for the entertainment brought by this battle.

As regras eram:

Regra Odd Ones Out

Image from threadImage from thread

Image from thread

Image from thread

Image from thread

Na segunda rodada, piorou. Nenhum ataque acertado.
Image from thread

Image from thread

Pois ela mostrou o contrário...

Algo totalmente inesperado aconteceu.
