The Point Atkinson Lighthouse is located on the outskirts of metro Vancouver. It is a national historic sight because of its long history that began in 1792. The park in which its located is filled with "virgin" rainforest, and there are several ways to access the lighthouse through a network of trails that range from easy to moderately difficult.
I was hoping to get up close and personal with the lighthouse, but as it turned out, there was no easy access, so I had to content myself with distant shots.
One of the trails that leads to the lighthouse was rugged as it swung up and down the rocky peninsula. So, one can stand on the large boulders that populate that side of the park.
The closest I was able to get to the lighthouse was from the main grounds, where there are number of old historic buildings. It was already late in the day (winter-wise), so the light was not the best, but I don't mind the moody west coast feel of it.
