Hello Splinterlands Summoners! Welcome to another edition of Social Media Challenge where I share a battle for a particular ruleset and which summoners, monsters and strategy I use. It's fun and challenging to think of strategies and units to use in each battle as every battle presents the player with different situations. It's even more satisfying when you win against opponents with stronger units.

The Ruleset

For this battle, the rulesets are:

Going the Distance - Only monsters with ranged attacks maybe used in battles.
Close Range - Ranged attacks may be used in the first position in battles.

In this ruleset, the ideal Summoners are General Sloan, Ilthain and Quix. However, only Fire Splinter is available. So we have to adjust our strategy with the ruleset and limitations we have and try to outsmart our opponent. For this particular instance, I have a star card that may help me win the battle.

My Team

Tarsa as summoner. I have no choice since she is my only Fire summoner. Her +1 bonus to life will be useful for all my units and +1 melee damage will be useful for my star card.

Venari Marksrat in the first position. I usually use this strategy in Going the Distance ruleset where the Marksrat's Martyr ability will boost the monster in the second position.

Drybone Raider is my star card in this particular battle. It deals 1 archer damage but can deal 3 melee damage synergizing with Tarsa. It also has the Double Strike ability so it will hit four times per turn when placed in the first position.

Lava Launcher in third position. The Fire Splinter has powerful ranged units too. These works well with one of the best summoners in the game, Yodin Zaku but he is in the Wild League. My Lava Launcher at level 4 deals 4 ranged damage. It has 6 shield and 6 hearts making it an ideal tank. It has the Close Range and Stun abilities.

Gargoya Devil in the fourth position. It deals 2 ranged damage, has Close Range and Flying abilities.

Scavo Firebolt in fifth position. It deals 3 ranged damage at the cost of only 4 mana so it's easy to slot in even in other rulesets or in low mana battles.

Firecaller in the sixth position. It's a reward card that deals 3 ranged damage and also has the Martyr ability. I usually place this at the back next to Tenyii Striker.

My Opponent

I was up against an opponent with maxed level cards. His team is composed of a level 4 Lorkus summoner, Molten Ash Golem, Lava Launcher a couple of Rebellion cards and Tinderlock at the back. These are all powerful cards but my Drybone Raider does his job of eliminating two of his units and softening the opponent's Lava Launcher so that the rest of the team can finish the battle.

Conclusion

Against a strong opponent, we can still win by choosing the correct units and strategy. This is what makes Splinterlands a fun game.
