Flawed people heal each other. Seems like people remember this as "that movie where an old black man has a hot white chick chained to his radiator", and I think that's a shame. We are shown the issues each of them has, and how each helps the other work through them. The ending is slightly abrupt, but the wedding hammers home just in case you missed it that she is the daughter he always wanted but his ex-wife aborted, while he is a proper non-abusive father figure for her. Great setting and music. 9/10.
