I love the idea that the Weekly Battle Challenge changed instead of featuring a monster to represent a ruleset. It is so good to do something different than usual and I hope they will continually do this in the future. The best way would be to mix these challenges, so every week would be more interesting.

This week we need to show a ruleset, which is the Little League and the way I used it to my (dis)advantage in the Battle I played. ๐Ÿ˜‡

My only problem with this new system is that it is very difficult to do battles with the specific ruleset featured for the week challenge, because it is random what you are going to get and even if you have that ruleset you need to win it somehow, which is not always easy. ๐Ÿ˜

Only units and summoners with a mana cost of 4 or less may be used.

The Little League ruleset is not my favorite at all, because it limits heavily what kind of monsters and summoners I can choose and those monssters are pretty weak. Many times my opponent picks the same lineup especially if many of the Splinters are banned or I am getting a different ruleset, which also limits the available monster pool such as Even Stevens, Odd Ones Out, Keep Your Distance, Taking Sides and such rulesets. ๐Ÿ˜œ

RulesetDescription
Aim TrueMelee and Ranged attacks always hit their target.
Little LeagueOnly Monsters & Summoners that cost 4 Mana or less may be used in battles.

The mana cap is 15, which is ideal for the Little League ruleset, because I can not choose monsters that cost more than 4 mana anyway. I hate to see when the mana cap is over 28, because I can not choose more expensive monsters from that. ๐Ÿ˜

Even thought it is not my favorite ruleset, there are quite a good number of combos using this ruleset, but it is important to get the option to choose any of the Splinters like in this battle where only the Death Splinter was banned.

Normally I wouldn't use any Ranged attack monster in this ruleset, because they are quite vulnerable in the backline and if they fall to the first position they can not attack from there. The Aim True ruleset might help a little bit, because some of the cheap Rangers are super slow, so they might benefit a lot from hitting their target 100%. ๐Ÿ˜‡

My lineup and the decision behind it!

Summoner
Kelya Frendul

image.png

Kelya Frendul is an excellent Little League Summoner, because he cost only four mana and he gives +1 Armor and Speed to all of his friendly monsters, so they will be able to block one Melee or Ranged attack completely and their higher Speed will allow them to attack faster than their enemies. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Anti Magic Tank
Daigendark Surveyor
image.png

The Daigendark Surveyor is a Rebellion monster and because of the low supply and high demand for that Expansion it is always expensive to rent those monsters. The same is true with the Surveyor as well, but many times she will well worth her price.

Even though she can't attack on its own, she has the Magic Reflect ability, which means that she will reflect all the incoming Magic attacks targeting her as long as she lives.

She also has the mass Slow ability, which will reduce the Speed of all the enemy monsters by one. ๐Ÿ˜…

Main Off Tank

Cruel Sethropod
image.png

The Cruel Sethropod will be my main tank in case my opponent is not going to bring any Magic attack monster, so I will take advantage of his high Armor and Health for only 3 mana. He also has decent Speed and Melee attack damage, which is always a plus for a tank. ๐Ÿ˜‡

diablo_divider_no1_water.png

Reacher
Tide Biter
image.png

The Tide Biter also cost 3 mana, so it is easy to include into my lineup. His speciality is his high Speed with the Reach ability, which means that he will be able to attack from the second position, but only if my Surveyor dies. ๐Ÿ˜œ

Damage Dealer and Sneaker
Pelacor Bandit
image.png

Whenever I use the Water Splinter I always try to include the Pelacor Bandit into my team even if the mana cap is higher. He cost only 3 mana has a lot of Speed and quite good damage, but more importantly he is able ot attack the last monster of the enemy team using his Sneak attack ability.

If my opponent doesn't prepare his team against that he might lose their backline quick allowing my team to win the game easily. ๐Ÿค—

The Backline Protector
Torrent Fiend
image.png

The Torrent Fiend cost zero mana, so it will fit easily into my fully loaded team and he would have a very important role and that is to block few incoming Sneak attacks fro mthe enemy team, so my Pelacor Bandit could kill them way before they will reach him. ๐Ÿคž

My opponent brought the Obsidian who gives +1 Magic (which is the strongest attack type in the game) to all of his monsters and on top of that he brought a pretty strong combination using the Weapon Training ability on his Moxian Rebel, so he will be able to give his own attack to the cheap non-attack monsters. ๐Ÿ˜

Hopefully my Daigendark Surveyor will hold the line and give tham some retaliation, before they will kill the rest of my monsters easily using their Magic attack, which always ignores any Armors on a monster. ๐Ÿคž

The Magic Reflect ability worked like a charm and managed to kill their Moxian Rebel, because he had only one Health overal. Sadly the reflect damage was not enough against their Djinn Biljka, because he had the Void ability and mitigated that damage to one.

His Chaos Agent also killed himself against the Magic Reflect ability, but he killed my Surveyor as well.

In the second round my team killed their Morphoid who had the Thorns ability, so he reflected some Melee attack back to their attacker.

His Fungus Fiend died quickly and after that I also lost my tank against their Biljka who killed him with only one shot. ๐Ÿ˜’

image.png

The Speed difference played a huge role in this game and made me win this battle, because by the third round only two of their damage dealers were fightning against two of mine.

Luckily my monsters attacked first whom were super quick and they were be able to kill their monsters before they could attack at all. ๐Ÿ˜‡
