I always look forward to Fridays, not because it's the day that heralds the weekend, but because it's the day I get to visit my parents. I always make sure to shop for them beforehand, following the list mom sends me. Now you'll understand why I go for shopping almost every Friday. ๐Ÿ˜…

Today was no exception. After rounding off work, and shopping completed, I headed to visit my parents. As we were driving down the road leading to their home, I noticed something peculiar โ€“ the sun was still shining bright, as if it were only 2:00pm, whereas it was 5:00pm. The lady sitting next to me on the way even commented on it, marveling at how it didn't feel like 5pm at all. Then I thought maybe, we were experiencing longer days and shorter nights. Well, nature sure knows how to pull stunts, haha!

Getting to my parent's house, my mom was already awaiting my arrival. After exchanging pleasantries, she didn't waste time in serving me a portion of the "Abacha (African salad)" she had kept especially for me. Oftentimes, she ensures to save a part of their lunch for my visit. It has become more like a routine for her, and I always enjoy these special treats. Sometimes, I'll take them home.

After spending time with them, it was time to head back home. Bidding them farewell, I stepped outside to behold the golden sunset, casting a warm glow across the sky. I stood for a moment watching it, and it felt like it was waiting for me, to bid me farewell before it makes it's gentle descent to the other side of the horizon.

Not wanting to miss this fleeting moment, I quickly grabbed my phone and took some snapshots, capturing the sunset at various stages.

After the final click, I let out a deep sigh of contentment, feeling grateful for this fleeting, yet magical moment. This fleeting moment with the sun is a subtle reminder to always live in the moment, appreciate the beauty of nature, and cherish every sunset.

Thank you for reading. Do have an amazing weekend.
