I have this silver belt that I've stopped using for a long time now because the beads that were used to adorn the buckle had all fallen off due to repeated drops on the ground.
I had thought of discarding the belt a couple of times, but my minimalist tendencies would make me change my mind each time. Lol. The thing is that I like the belt a lot because of its uniqueness, and how it always compliment any outfit I pair it with.
Moreover, minimalism encourages us to;
- Reduce waste by up cycling, recycling or repair or refurbishing items.
- Save money by extending the life of existing items.
- Be resourceful and creative.
So today, I decided to apply my minimalistic side by restoring the buckle's original appearance. The idea is to reattach the beads on the buckle so the belt, making it usable and attractive again. 
Achieving this required only few materials, and simple steps. Thankfully, the materials were easy to get.
*Materials Used
- Rice Beads - 17 pieces
- Super Glue
Since the color of the belt is silver, I needed to use a color of rice beads that would enhance the beauty of the belt, hence the creamy color.
Steps
- On each of the spaces in the buckle, I applied a little drop of the super glue, then fixed the rice bead on it immediately to avoid it drying off.
Work in progress
- I repeated the same process in each of the spaces until all the rice beads were properly fixed.
The final look
Finally my belt is ready to be rocked again, hehehe. See how beautiful it looks. 
I also used the opportunity to reattach the hook of one of my earrings that had fallen off.

I'm glad that I was able to achieve this with minimal effort. This small act of repair would not only save me money, but would also reduce waste.
So next time you're about discarding something, be clothing or your accessories, consider giving them a new life. It would do you a lot of good, and you would be saving some cents too.
