Ladies and fashion are like Siamese twins. They can’t be separated. We’ve come a long way — from the traditional styles - the classics our grandmoms, our moms wore, to the styles on the runways, and then to trends all over our social media feeds today.

Fashion has eveolved everywhere. Everyday, there’s a new trend. And the next minute? You’ll see ladies rocking it. The fashionista gang!

However, some ladies don’t even care whether it fits their body or not. They just see it on the trend page and they’re like “I must wear this."

Some come out looking like what I don't know. Lol. Some too, you'd start empathizing with them because of how uncomfortable they look in those outfits. How about this one they snatch up everywhere, punishing themselves in the process? Ah, ladies! 😅

As crazy as fashion can be, do we have to wear all of them?

Honestly, the trend here is getting crazier by the day. Some females - adults and young alike, now parade the streets half-claded in provocating and revealing outfits. Some don't even care if their boobs fly out of their clothes.

I see some of them and I feel shame.

Honestly, I love fashion. I visit fashion pages. I see what’s new and I’ll even stop someone to take a picture of some beautiful outfits too. I appreciate good styles.

But, I’m not a fashionista. Neither am I a trendy wearer. I prefer beautiful, classy, timeless and comfortable pieces. Clothes that may look simple yet elegant.

I'm building a wardrobe, not a costume closet.

I believe in dressing for the moment. Church, work, meet ups... my outfit should fit where I'm going.

And that's why if I see a trendy style that I like, all I'll do is to adjust. I take the inspiration and tweak the design to fit me.

Imagine dressing up stepping out, you see 2 to 3 ladies on the same street in the same design. Ah! That's kind of embarrassing.

However, fashion isn’t only about clothes. The hair, makeup, accessories and all, are a part of the package.

While the fashionistas are busy chasing trendy hairdos, wigs whether they fit them or not, I go for styles that'll fit my face. Simple, yet beautiful, whether it's permed, braid or wig. In fact, wig is occasionally because that too, is discomforting.

Make up must be light and natural, else I'm not game. I wouldn't want to look myself in the mirror and a I see a totally different face staring back at me. Lol.

Loving fashion shouldn’t mean losing yourself in it. That's the reason I dress for me, not just for the trend. And honesty, that’s the sweet spot.
