It was a sunny afternoon, and I was standing on the roadside, outside my office, along Azikiwe Road, waiting for a ride, while also on the lookout for shadows to capture. Lol.
And then they came along - two guys, engaged in their daily hustles, but still focused on their phones. One is following behind a truck carrying his goods, eyes glued to his screen. Who knows, he might be trying to send a message to someone, or probably, make an important call - something related to the goods. The other one, navigating a truckload of goods, phone glued to his ear, is probably communicating with the owner of the goods.
Funny enough, both of them could pass as individuals dressed in uniform - red polos with a pair of shorts, almost the same color. A play of coincidence! ๐
Click clik, I snapped, careful not to draw attention to myself. Great shadows, I mused.

However, taking a look at the photos, I thought they'd make a great portrait, since the shots highlight their expressions and the intensity of their focus on their phones.
Moment of distraction.
These photos are a common sight in our streets, workplaces, homes, in fact, everywhere. You'd see someone busy with their daily grind, but within a twinkle of an eye, their focus is on something else. They could be lost in a world of notifications and screens, thoughts, worries, or even sudden distractions, oblivious to the world moving around them.
Moment of realization!
And, it'll take a jolt of reality to snap them back to the moment. Maybe a loud noise, a tap on the shoulder, or someone calling out their name.
It's a crazy world we have out there, and we're all in this wild ride, balancing life, work and our screens.
No one is exempt...
