Hello feathered friends, warm welcome to my blog. I'm excited to JOIN this new round of #smap 191 themed - Bird House.
Finding birdhouses/nesting boxes in my region is challenging, as they're uncommon. Locals don't typically build or buy birdhouses.
I'm guessing this absence of birdhouses here might be due to lack of local awareness or interest in bird welfare and conservation. I may not be entirely wrong with this guess because birds are one of the endangered species in my region.
Some locals hunt these birds for meat
That's a usual practice here. Be that as it may, I hope to entertain you with the beautiful pictures of bird nests that I captured sometime ago during my walk.

In the absence of birdhouses, birds here nest in palm trees and other vegetation.

But, they risk losing their homes during planting season when trees are pruned to make way for sunlight to penetrate. You know the crops need more sunlight to grow and produce well.

I picked one of the nests. See how well woven it is. I was actually hoping to see some eggs or maybe the young birds inside, but it seems no bird has nestled yet. I hope to get lucky one day. ๐

That's all I've got to share with you. Hope you like photos. Do let me know.
