Remember the rainy Monday I talked about in my previous post? The one where I stayed in all day and later in the evening, went to the church meeting in the drizzle?

The meeting went well and before I could get home, it was already dark. The road, my neighborhood, everywhere was just quiet. Cool. A beautiful scene to be captured.

This is Obikabia/ Umukalika Road. I had alighted at the junction that leads to my street and decided to stop for a few minutes to look around.

For a couple of days now, the sky has been a bit illuminated at night. Even without a torchlight, one could see through the road. Maybe it’s the moon coming up gradually to full moon.

However, this night was different. The clouds were still heavy from the rain, so the night was extra dark.

The streetlights also felt the impact of the rain. They weren't so bright. They’re solar powered, and since it rained all day there wasn’t enough sun to charge them. So the road had this soft, dim glow.

Besides the streetlights, the light from incoming vehicles and the few lights from shops along the road helped illuminate the road. Even at that, it was still dark.

Cool thing about rain, it gives you nights like this.

Have you experienced a night like this before?
