It's another round of the Around the world challenge, where we're invited to share photos of interesting places, monumental sites and all, in our city. If you'd like to join, please read the contest announcement post for guidelines. Good luck.
Right in the heart of Aba sits this monumental building. Located right between Bata junction and Aba South Local Government Area headquarters on No 1 Factory Road, most people walk past without knowing its story or the owner(s).

I guess you want to know?
First, this architectural masterpiece is the Rotary Monument of Peace Park, owned by the Rotary Club of Aba.

Built in the late 1980's - 1988 or thereabout, this building, which features a small garden park and a clubhouse, where weekly fellowships, zonal evaluations, and community events are held, serves as a prominent landmark in the city.

The colors - sky blue and white, plus the vibrant flowers and towering trees aren't what anyone around that location would miss. Moreover, you don't see many buildings with such a structural design around here. So, it's a gem.

I attended a fellowship here a couple of times, as a Rotaractor back then. It's been over two decades now. Lol.
Each time I walk past, I'd always pause for the peaceful ambience. You know I love natural environments, right? Lol.
