Hi, my friends. Lucky Ali here. Thanks for landing on this post. When it comes to sustainability, governance of the community, and true decentralization, Hive stands out. When we look at the crypto field then there are many blockchains that focus only on profit, whereas the hive is for the community, and anyone can join the community. But the time will come when the hive growth will speed up, and at that time, we have to see how ethically things will be implemented, so this is the biggest question.

It is time to understand it in detail

Hive is popular for microblogging, blogging, and creating dApps

This is the blockchain that's birth was unique to stand against centralization, Hive was born, and it is a Steem fork. Decentralization and ethics are part of the Hive DNA; that's the reason Hive is growing faster than Steem. For microblogging, blogging, and creating dapps, Hive is heaven, and users get rewards for their contributions and the efforts they put into the platform. The good thing is that a small group, a single entity, or any single company does not own the platform.

How Hive Supports Sustainability

There are unique features of the hive that help it for sustainability

  • Delegated proof of stake: Unlike proof of work of Bitcoin, this is nature-friendly and consumes very little energy. That is the reason it is built for long-term use.

  • Community Funding: Funding to any random project is not possible on Hive; it is the community that decides whether any project will receive funding or not. The community votes on the proposal of funding, and this system is called decentralized hive funding.

  • User Incentives: People stay active on the hive because there is a reason, and that reason is a reward for your contribution as a content creator. This is also helping the platform to grow and attract more users.

  • No Central Control: The community operates a hive, and everything depends on the voting of the users. People can balance everything, which is why Hive is all about people's choice.

Now let's discuss Ethical Challenges of Scaling

The question is, what happens when millions of people join Hive? Will it survive? Here I want to discuss three things: power concentration, funding pressure, and content quality vs reward farming.

Power concentration is a problem because we know DPOS is a powerful system, but the hive can slowly move towards centralization if any whale who owns the largest stake starts controlling decision-making. When millions of people join Hive, then obviously some of them will be the largest stakeholders. However, this is decentralization, and it is automatically run, so we can't stop anyone from being a whale, but your opinion matters, so reply below.

Now, above, I have talked about decentralized hive funds, and this is an amazing funding system that exists on Hive, which goes through community voting. When the hive user base grows, more projects will come, and it is not guaranteed that every project that comes will be good and supportive towards the community. Maybe Hive can face meaningless and useless projects. So here, DHF management is most important in the future.

Hive is a rewarding platform for content creators, but what if users only focus on rewards and create content based on it? This can lead to a flood of low-quality content on the platform. So there should be a way to reward the genuine and good content creators in a way that even new users will not be demotivated, and spammers are filtered out.

Conclusion

Hive has an active and passionate community that is the strength of hive and everything will be depended on the management and how things will be implemented and not only this We have to evolve constantly with the new technologies and future upgrades and we can see this is happening. So the conclusion is hive is on the right track.
