It's brings much joy to our heart to make use of stuffs that nature brings and turn it into a delightful food.
Food gotten from plants are really amazing! Adding them to our menu is great! Well today I want to share a simple way I made peanut butter for my Cabin biscuits. The peanut butter makes the biscuit more tasty for me and I was happy to make it, locally. Here's how:

Ingredients

Below are the simple ingredients:

  • 1 cup of groundnut

  • Salt to taste

  • Garri (Dry sand can also be used) for frying the groundnut

Procedure

  • Wash and soak the groundnut with salt.

  • Pour the groundnuts in a sieve to let the water dry

  • In a dry pot, pour in the Garri (or dry clean sand) and allow it to heat up

  • Pour in the groundnuts and stir continuously till it can easily peel and it browns inside

  • Next, peel the groundnut and separate the chaff from it

  • After that normally we blend to paste using the blender. But since we didn't have the blender, I had to pound it locally using a mortar and pestle

It took a lot of work and effort, it would have been much easier with an electric blender. I kept bounding it to get the paste

  • Soon it was already a good paste and I set it up in a plate with my biscuits

I applied the paste to the biscuits to give it a more nice and delicious taste as you see below:

This peanut paste is used for many other food/snacks other than groundnuts. We use it for bread, for garden eggs too:

It's something really amazing and delightful!
