After visiting the arcade in the mall a month ago, we returned this Sunday afternoon with the excuse of enjoying the air conditioning in the mall, as the summer heat is quite intense, and since I had the game zone card, we decided to go there again.
Since we are almost at the end of the month, the budget was tight: either we ate or we played, so since we had snacks at home, my son preferred to use the money to try out some of the attractions he had not enjoyed in the previous visit.
The first one that caught his attention was the basketball shooting game, as he has been asking me for a while to start practicing this sport, which is one of the plans to execute when the school period begins.
I swiped the card to start the game and he began to throw the balls with more excitement than accuracy, ending up with a score that didn't make him as happy as the whole process, but I told him that the important thing was to have tried and that not everything we want always goes well on the first try.
Then we went to another game where he played as a fisherman, this time achieving better results with the fish he caught, and although according to the score they offered some redeemable tickets, it seems that they no longer use that system as the machine didn't dispense any. Also, there was no prize shelf in the box that could be claimed.
When we passed by the machine where you can grab a plush toy, with his gaze, he told me everything, as he has always wanted to use them, and although I have told him that the probability of getting something is low, he wanted to try it and I think it was the right moment to do it.
I started telling him to look at what he wanted to grab before activating it, to already have a purpose in mind. He swiped the card, took the controls very confidently, and managed to grab the plush, but before it could be pulled out of the hole, it got loose! Once again, I had to teach him to handle his frustration.
Lastly, he tried the Angry Birds game, trying to knock down the pigs by throwing balls to unbalance their structures. Here he understood that more than acting without thinking, it was necessary to calculate the exact point to make the most of each shot, as the game was not based on time but on the number of balls available in each round.
We only played 4 games, but we had so much fun spending only 5,000 pesos ($5 approximately). We strolled around to see which ones he wants to try on the next outing, and also noticed that the Samba machine is still inactive 😔
Luego de la visita al arcade del centro comercial hace un mes, volvimos esta tarde del domingo con la excusa de aprovechar el aire acondicionado del centro comercial, pues el calor del verano está bastante fuerte, y como tenía la tarjeta de la zona de juegos, decidimos pasar nuevamente por allá.
Como estamos casi a fin de mes, el presupuesto era justo: o comíamos o jugábamos, así que como en casa teníamos para merendar, mi hijo prefirió usar el dinero para usar algunas de las atracciones que no había disfrutado en la visita anterior.
La primera que llamó su atención fue la de lanzar pelotas de baloncesto en serie, pues desde hace tiempo me pide que quiere empezar a practicar este deporte, cosa que es uno de los planes para ejecutar cuando inicie el período escolar.
Deslicé la tarjeta para activar el juego y comenzó a lanzar pelotas con más emoción que atino, terminando con un marcador que no le alegró tanto como todo el proceso, pero le dije que lo importante fue haberlo intentado y que a la primera no siempre las cosas que queremos nos salen bien.
Luego nos fuimos a otro en el que fungía de pescador, esta vez logrando mejores resultados con los peces que atrapaba, y aunque de acuerdo con el puntaje ofrecían unos tickets canjeables, al parecer ya no usan ese sistema pues la máquina no arrojó ninguno. Igual tampoco había en la caja un estante con premios que pudieran reclamarse.
Cuando pasamos por la máquina de la que puedes sacar algún peluche, con su mirada me lo dijo todo, pues siempre ha querido usarlas y aunque le he dicho que la probabilidad de sacar algo es poca, él quería intentarlo y pues creo que era el momento de hacerlo.
Empecé a decirle que antes de accionarla viera lo que deseaba sacar, para ya ir con un propósito en mente. Pasó la tarjeta él, tomó el mando muy seguro y logró asir el peluche, pero antes de entrar al hoyo para poderlo sacar, se soltó! Una vez más, tocó enseñarle a manejar su frustración.
De último se animó con el juego de Angry Birds, tratando de hacer caer a los cerdos lanzando pelotas que desnivelaran sus construcciones. Aquí ya entendió que más que accionar sin pensar, era necesario calcular el punto exacto para aprovechar cada tiro, ya que el juego no era por tiempo sino por el número de pelotas disponibles en cada partida.
Fueron solo 4 juegos, pero cómo nos divertimos invirtiendo solo 5.000 pesos (5$ aproximadamente). Dimos algunas vueltas para ver cuáles quiere probar en un próximo paseo, y además ver que todavía el Samba sigue inactivo 😔
