It is difficult to bear a physical and emotional burden without having a support network. Mine remained in my country, and now here in Argentina I have not been able to form one, although I have tried in some way. Maybe the idiosyncrasy doesn't help me, or I'm just looking in the wrong place.

But for those days when I feel I can't go any more, being able to go somewhere and enjoy a coffee, makes the mood calm down a lot.

Just the week that just ended was full of ups and downs of all kinds: work, physical and emotional, all added to the start of school activities that already upset my routine. All this ended up making me a kind of mini mental collapse that only I realized, and I had to take charge.

So yesterday, after home obligations, I decided to take a flash walk to the city, when it was already 6 pm and I knew it would get dark soon. My little companion was surprised, as he knows I don't like to walk the streets at night, but at the word “out”, he quickly arranged for us to go “that way”.

We ended up going to a McDonald's, one that is almost always half full, and where you can think and listen to yourself, while the kids are at the park.

Between an ice cream cone for him and a cappuccino coffee for me, I spent two hours doing nothing for the others, but internally putting the mess back together a bit.

It gave me both laughter and tenderness when the guy at the bar asked me if I wanted sugar and sweetener, and I told him that I didn't want either. His strange face reminded me of when I was that age and didn't give importance to those kind of details that take care of your health. It made me laugh even more to think that this boy could be my son, because I heard my mother and grandmother say those things, and now I am in that range too.

My little boy finished his ice cream quickly and asked permission to go to the park, and how could I say no, if this outing was also a time for him. So everyone was enjoying and draining the emotions of the week in their own way.

Then it got dark, and it was time to return home, but with more calm and recharged energy. The magic of a good coffee and the extra time that from time to time are necessary.
