Hey, foodies in the hive!

A nice view of the mountains and the blue sea in the distance, delicious food, good music (not too loud), excellent attention and other benefits I'm yet to discover made me loved the vibe of this place so much that I'd love to stay for a couple of days--if I could afford it 🙈

If you look at the finishing and wooden details, you'll notice that the structures have deteriorated perhaps a little too much for having only been inaugurated almost a year ago; one wonders many things about the nature, origin, accessibility, and sustainability of places like this when it comes to Venezuela and even more so in the east of the country. Yes, I'm one of those people: as soon as I set foot in one of these places, I wonder how much to keep it standing, how many people are on the payroll, who could be the owners/investors, etc., etc, etc... But what the heck! We came for the food and the view 😁

The road to Los Altos de Santa Fe is quite rough even though the road is paved.

As you drive up the mountains, you can see the public transportation units working all day long, until the early evening.

It was like a 10 minute drive to La vista, Glamping and Restaurant, where we hoped we could order soup--it didn't happen because it wasn't on the menu.

A nice guy welcomed us and gave us the news: no soup. This was disappointing, but my brother in law insisted we should eat there. It was the view; that's what motivated him, and I was delighted that my sister agreed.

Below are the pictures of what I saw as we drove/then walked around the place: the cabins were well spaced from each other and had parking right in front of them and air conditioning.

And into the restaurant 😋

No soup, but they had some interesting options on the menu, to drink and to eat to your heart's content:

While I waited for my fish popcorn & fries, I enjoyed the view... It was like eating with your eyes and soul. Exhilarating.

Our drinks arrived in no time: three lemon & spearmint slushies (virgin).

The rustic feel of the place is enhanced not only by the beautiful view of the natural landscape but also by small details such as the beautiful lamps on the ceiling.

Because the place was almost empty, our food arrived quickly; it took about 20 minutes.

Grilled snoek, tostones (fried flattened disks of unripe plantain, really popular in venezuela; also known as patacones in the west), fried arepitas, a coleslaw topped with chili pico de gallo, and lemon. This was my brother in law's order.

Grilled octopus with rustic potatoes topped with homemade spicy mayonnaise and parsley. My sister's order.

And finally,

Fish popcorn & fries with tartar sauce

My dish came with some tartar sauce. Yum!

I'm telling you, the food was spectacular. Everything was freshly made; the fish and the octopus, super fresh. My fish popcorn, crispy and soft with that beer aftertaste left by tempura. All this could only be bettered by the beautiful view.

Truly, this was one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had.

My brother in law's treat, so thank you! 😁 ❤️
