Some months ago, our dear country was named, "A country of particular concern." And in all honesty that's what we are. We are going through very difficult times, where no one, especially the poor masses is safe. It is getting worse by the day and we can't just keep quiet, especially on this insecurity of a thing.

You wake up to a new day and the first news you hear is a bombing, an abduction, and killings that happened overnight. And you just thought, "this could have been me, or a close person." We are in a country that has leaders and security operatives, yet we live in fear. Some time ago, we were only scared to travel long distance or travel at night, today we are even afraid in our own homes, school, places of work and all, because these perpetrators of evil are now doing their evil deeds everywhere.
The hurting part is how that the common citizens are the only victims of this, yet our leaders are not concerned, all we see them doing in campaigning for a reelection. And I can't help but wonder how this present government are still having supporters, is it that those supporting them have been bribed already or are benefiting from this failed system. All we want is for our leaders to put us first. If you can't do that, then make your way out and resign... You've failed at your primary assignment.
No good news in Nigeria anymore, school children are being kidnapped, families are being taken away, travelers are being attacked, and we expect that the government will take very quick actions and be genuinely concerned, but to me I feel this our leaders aren't humans. They don't care, they lack empathy, they lack sympathy, they lack all that adds up together to make a human a human.
And this insecurity issue has affected everything, from the cost of living to the price of foodstuffs, to the cost of transportation and all, everything has skyrocketed.

I as a person is tired of ranting, complaining and all, so I feel we also have a responsibility. Enough of "my vote won't count," "they will still rig it." Enough of all of that, we need to change our mindset, I keep saying this, this people in government are not more than us, we outnumber them countless times. Just last week something of this sort was discussed in the @sam.hangout community.
So, each and every one of us should make sure to get their PVC and be ready to vote out this evil of a government come next election. Voting as a citizen is one of the many strong tools we own and can wield. And with it, we can elect, impeach, and hold our leaders accountable.
We can't keep quiet about these things, we can't stop talking about it, not until there's a change. Nigeria belongs to all of us, so we must become more involved and more determined. A positive change is possible if we have responsible leaders and active citizens who refuse to believe that change is not possible.
