I haven't been here for long, but for the short period that I've been here, I think I have few things to say about this topic. Hive in all honesty has really helped me, beyond what you can even think or imagine. Through hive, I've got to meet various amazing people from different walks of life, hive has also helped improve my writing, I've been able to earn rewards from the content I post too, also, I've been able to learn from the post of various authors on here.

But just like every other platform, hive can still improve and be way better. And in this piece, I would love to point out very few things.

First off, let's talk about the onboarding process. All thanks to the various frontends that are now very much available now, talk of @ecency, @inleo, @peakd, @hiveblog, amongst others that are making it easier and simpler for newbies to navigate hive. Also, I will as well love to thank @samostically and the @sam.hangout community that are helping newbies find their feet on here. You guy's are doing amazingly well. Thanks for all you do.

But then, to some extent it can still feel a little confusing to newbies, on hive we have various terms that we use that can make you feel lost, talk of HP, RC, Delegation, Curation, tags. It might look small, but I've seen newbies who struggle with things like this and wonder what it is really and what it is for. It took me a while to understand all of those things too. I even left at a time before coming back after taking my time to research and also get tutored by @vickoly. For this, I think it will be great if there are simpler tutorials, step-by-step guides and all on how to navigate hive, most of the ones I found were done years ago, I feel it can be made simpler and some things being added to it as hive itself and it's various frontends keeps improving too. I believe a lot of newbies won't get stuck or leave immediately after making an introduction post.

Second on my list. I feel it would be better if contents can really be seen. I mean, hive values originality and a lot of users are doing amazingly well, giving their best to it, but then they don't get noticed or seen. I'm sure if they are seen, then their work will be seen too. I understand that so much contents are being posted/published on a daily basis, but I feel there could be an improved/a better way of discovering posts. What I'm saying is, regardless of how big or how small an account or its publisher is, they should feel seen.

Also, the issue of scam and scam account. I've been scammed on hive before so I very well know how it can make one feel. I also think hive can improve in this aspect, if there's a way to ban or put a certain tag on scam accounts so users can be more wary and careful(Seems the only thing I see is low ratings, but most newbies might not know or understand it). I understand that hive is a very transparent platform, even still a lot of us find it hard to know what's real from what's not. There are different scam account on hive that carries the name hive, newbies who see such can think it's definitely a real or an hive account not knowing it's a scam account. So, I would be glad if something or some sort could be done to that as well.

Lastly, I would love it if there can be an improvement in real world utility of hive. Yes. If it's possible for hive to be used beyond creating post, swapping, earning rewards and such. I can see how that people are using it to get things, but I feel that's only for hbd, like the @spendhbd

If businesses and other institutions can start accepting hive as a form of payment. I mean using hive in practical ways, I believe it would increase its(hive) visibility and also attract new people.

Honestly, everyone is doing amazingly well, from the witnesses, to curators, to app builders and all the brains behind hive, the likes of @neoxian, @acidyo, @appreciator, @good-karma, @sagarkothari88, @curatorhulk, @arcange. And to those I couldn't mention, a big hug and a big welldone to y'all. Thanks for everything.

I still know of a lot of people who have never heard about hive and all the opportunities here. So, I believe these improvement would make more people see, understand, discover, value and stay on hive. Hive is a great and wonderful platform, no doubt about that, but such improvement will be an encouragement while also giving hive a high level of visibility.
