I see it everyday, I just need to look down from my bed, to watch my steps so I don't get drowned or slip from my already flood filled room, everything in my room back then is almost 5 feet from the floor level, mt clothes, my books, even my bed, cause keep it some few feets lower and you have yourself to blame.

A time came and we switched environment, cause of the flood, maybe jt was because our area then was very close to the river, but then our new environment again, only if I did not look out of the window, everything would me messed up already. My parents said it wasn't like that before, I don't know how true that is, they claim the harmattan, rainy, dry season and all were all bearable then, but that now, nothing is predictable, even various illness are now flying around with different seasons, my mum often times say it's cause the end is near already..

That aside, the very first flood I experience was one without warning, we had a fun night, the sky looks clear, we ate out and everyone went in to sleep, but during the night, everything shook, rain and all, but still we all seems to enjoy our sleep, it was my brothers noise that woke us all up, he was shouting omi ti wo ile o, meaning there's water everywhere in the house, I woke up suddenly, getting up from the bed and then straight into a pool of water, I had to brush my hand through my face and look down clearly.

It looks/sounded impossible, but it was the reality, God so good, our small baby cried that night and he slept together with my parents on their bed, not on his own small bed, his small mattress was already floating, we went to the kitchen, everything was a mess all our foodstuffs stored in sacks are soaked up. Certain documents, books, clothes our shoes and more were spoiled already. That night, we all got wrapped in a nylon wear, my dad couldn't sleep, he was so sad and worried, that night he decided we are leaving the following morning, that was how we bade goodbye to that environment.

That was the flood, talking about the heat also, you know I don't really like that period at all, aside the fact that we would keep bathing countless times in a day, it also keeps stressing us, we don't have a borehole, and those periods wells would have gonendry already, we would walk long long distances with gallons on our heads just to find water. We had a small backyard farm then which gave us pepper, okra, and maize, veggies and all, but then they all turned to dust.

Then comes the harmattan, I have experienced it all, some harmattans comes with cold, some comes with dust, some come with both. You can't have it easy bathing just anyhow especially early in the morning or at night, also yiu can't just decide to burn anything talkless of a bush, cause if not well monitored, it will burn beyond.

Well, some say climate change is a bit too exaggerated, maybe those who have money to be anywhere at anytime or maybe those who life is comfortable for. Because I really can't understand how you exaggerate burying a child who drowned in a flood or exaggerate hunger when crops no longer grow the way they used to....How do you exaggerate all those, or is it the scorching sun?

This is real, some of the memories I had, some of the pain have experienced, so am sorry it may sound personal, but I tired to not make it emotional.
