Have you heard that, going forward, a doctor’s note will be required starting on the first day of sick leave? In addition, the practice of obtaining a doctor’s note over the phone will be discontinued.
The Chancellor hopes this will reduce sick leave. But is sick leave really that high? Well, according to AOK—and presumably other health insurers as well—that’s not the case at all. These days, sick leave is simply being tracked digitally, making the data more accurate than before.
Furthermore, there is no data to suggest that the policy of issuing sick notes over the phone has led to this increase. In fact, you can’t even reach your family doctor by phone because they’d rather attend to patients in person than answer questions over the phone.
Callers might find this frustrating, but I can understand why the medical assistants would prefer to ensure that everyone who’s there gets seen.
I could well imagine that this will have the opposite effect, because some people will think, “If I have to go to the doctor anyway, I might as well get a longer sick note—since I had to spend the day at the doctor’s office, I couldn’t rest or recover.”
I have to say, I don’t think I’ve ever called in sick for just 1–2 days. I usually just tough it out, and when I do get sick, I’m so sick that I end up in bed for a week or even in the hospital.
Knock on wood—it’s been a while since that happened.
They want to reduce sick leave, but they expect us all to work more and longer hours. Do you see the flaw in that logic?
What do you think about this? And how about you—do you ever call in sick for just 1–2 days, or have you ever gotten a sick note over the phone?

habt ihr schon mitbekommen, das die Krankschreibung ab dem 1. Tag vorliegen soll zukünftig? Zudem soll die telefonische Krankschreibung auch wegfallen.
Damit erhofft sich der Bundeskanzler, dass der Krankenstand sinkt. Aber ist der Krankenstand wirklich so hoch? Nun Laut AOK, und vermutlich auch den anderen Kassen, ist das gar nicht der Fall. Inzwischen werden lediglich die Krankschreibungen digital erfasst und somit genauer als zuvor.
Auch liegen keine Daten vor, dass die telefonische Krankschreibung dazu geführt habe. Also meinen Hausarzt bekommt man telefonisch gar nicht, weil Sie lieber sich um die Patienten Vorort kümmern, als irgendwelche Fragen telefonisch zu beantworten.
Man mag sich darüber als Anrufer ärgern, aber ich kann es verstehen, das die Arzthelferinnen sich lieber darum kümmern, das auch alle dran kommen, die anwesend sind.
Ich könnte mir gut vorstellen, dass dies eher das Gegenteil bewirken wird, denn manch einer wird sich denken, wenn ich jetzt eh schon zum Arzt muss, dann kann ich mich auch gleich länger krankschreiben, habe ja den Tag in der Praxis verbringen müssen, da konnte ich mich nicht erholen/ genesen.
Ich muss sagen, ich habe mich glaube noch nie für 1-2 Tage krankgemeldet. Da ich h durch beiße und wenn dann bin ich so richtig Krank, das ich eine Woche im Bett liege oder gar im Krankenhaus.
Was alles toi toi toi, klopf auf Holz, schon wieder ein Weilchen her ist.
Will die Krankmeldungen senken, aber wir sollen alle mehr und länger arbeiten. Findet ihr den fehler in der Logik?
Was meint ihr dazu? Und wie sieht das bei euch aus, meldet ihr euch auch für 1-2 Tage krank, schon einmal telefonisch Krankschreiben lassen?
