Na mijn eerste ZAPFIC50 Friday Challenge dacht ik dat de ZapFicMonday - ZapFic240 Challenge een makkie zou zijn. Wat had ik het mis.
Vijftig woorden of 240 karakters, het verschil klinkt groot, maar in werkelijkheid is het zelfs nóg beperkter. Minder ruimte. Minder adem. Minder speelruimte voor iemand die graag uitbundig schrijft. En toch is het me gelukt.

Mijn eerste gedachte was allesbehalve licht. Mijn hoofd zat nog bij het nieuws van vanmorgen: de oorlog tussen Pakistan en Afghanistan die opnieuw oplaait. Het raakt me, de mensen daar, de onzekerheid, het wachten, het niet-weten.
Oorlog blijft nooit op afstand wanneer er mensen zijn om wie je geeft.
Soms kies je je inspiratie niet, soms kiest zij jou.
Mijn verhaal:
Zoute tranen op mijn wangen als ik naar de wereld kijk.
Christenen vieren de vastentijd, moslims beleven ramadan, maar het nieuws spreekt over oorlog.
In heilige tijden van bezinning worstelt de mensheid nog steeds met de keuze voor vrede.
