You don't need more money, you need more discipline.
You don't need a big job, you need to spend wisely.
You don't need a big money alert, you need to save better.
We would always want more money but only few are doing the work that is required to actually have that money and sustain it. It's one thing to earn lots of money, which would require a lot of discipline and efforts, it's another thing to make the money grow in your hands, not run down.
Money is a powerful tool in the hands of men but only the wise control what and how it should be used. I was chatting with a friend yesterday and we talked briefly about what he had found about managing his finances better, we've been on the quest to learn about finance and management.
That brief chat inspired me to write this now so it's going to be a short post but like a reminder to me and whoever would care that, it's not always about making a lot of money. It is our attitude towards the money we already have. It's sad that many are taught on how to spend money than they were taught to live below means and invest.
What my friend shared about his finance is something I've known about before and I've been trying to put in practice even when it's not easy. I'll share it here also, "Treat your money like it's scarce and think for like two days before you make major purchases". With no doubt, impulse buying is the drain passage taking our money.
Until we learn to buy what we need, choosing assets over liabilities, intentionally saving and researching to invest wisely, we would still struggle to make even the big money in our possession to grow. Except of course, it's a very generous wealth one is lucky to have or given lol.
So this advise is mainly for those who aren't born into wealth or got lucky to be gifted big amount of money. If you're the one in charge of growing wealth for your life and the family you'll bring into the world, it starts with daily intentions to save, invest and live below your means, think well before major purchases while you try to earn.
