I'm not a bad friend even though it takes me months to pick up my phone to call and check on my friend, or am I? I wish you'd say I'm not. I may not call but I check up on them through WhatsApp, follow up on what's going on with them and I stop by their dm whenever I see something great to celebrate or sad to pat them.

It's been over four years since we graduated and went our separate ways, it's been almost two years since our service to the country in different states and it's been months since I last heard their voices, no meetups all those while. Being on a group call with my two closest friends two days ago was a bliss I had not thought I didn't need.
Two days ago wasn't one of my best days until I got a call from one of my friends. Oh don't even get me started with the number of times she said I had forgotten her, I knew she was joking because we do stop by each other's dm but I understood she meant it's been long we last heard each other's voices. She added our friend.

I can remember we all started laughing right from the first "Hello, I've missed you girls!" Right from our time in school together, we were never quiet whenever we were together, always having things to discuss or laugh about. It turns out that hasn't changed even a tiny bit, we had like a thousand topics to discuss as it's been long we last talked.

We spent almost two hours on the group call, I remember Nancy was suggesting that we get the call to three hours before we end it but it was already late at night and we were all screaming on the call which wasn't convenient to people around us. Talking and laughing more for almost two hours was more than enough confirmation that we still got it for our friendship.
We talked about our lecturers, favourites and the ones who stressed our study life, we had a long talk about our other coursemates who are doing well now and a few who have passed on sadly. I also got to know of one who has gone missing for over a year, it was a sad chat at that point but we had to move on and talk about the fun stuffs.

While we were chatting, Nancy kept bombarding our dm with old pictures we thought we had lost. She had backup her photos so she recovered a lot of pictures from our school days and yesterday was her chance to take us back with pictures we thought we had forgotten. Some are funny and quite embarrassing so I can't share all.

We didn't end the call without discussing our first ever meetups after graduation, it won't be an easy one but it is something we want to make happen and as soon as possible. They are both in same state so they will meet much earlier than I would, I have to find a good time and opportunity to travel for the main purpose of meeting them.
The time spent with them on call yesterday was nostalgic, joyous and memorable and I'm so glad Favor initiated it. Hopefully, we would have such more often than we did before two days ago. I'm grateful for the friends I found in my school days.
Cheers to the last time we caught up! π₯
Looking forward to the next time!
