Parental guidance is always advised before allowing your kids to see any movie. Nowadays, the movie industry uses sex scenes to sell most of their movies. It's hard to see a movie that doesn't have any kissing or sex scenes.

My parents didn't play a role in selecting the kind of movies I watched, but my older siblings did.
I'm the 9th child of my parents so you can imagine how many older siblings I have.
I wasn't allowed to watch TV until I was done with my schoolwork and chores. This wasn't implemented by my parents but by my siblings, since they were quite older and played a huge role.

My elder sister was a huge fan of Telemundo and Televista channel.
I'm sure you would agree that most of the shows aired on Telemundo have lots of sex and kissing scenes hahaha.
Now the funny thing is I was allowed to watch the series with them, but forbidden from watching any kissing scenes.
Whenever there was a kissing scene, I would turn my head away or close my eyes ๐Ÿ˜‚ because if I didn't, I would be given a heavy knock on my head.
I tried it and I was given the slap of my life ๐Ÿ˜‚. So nope I never tried to peep again. (I would only watch those scenes during the weekend when they weren't around hahaha)

Honestly, I wouldn't want my kids to watch just any movie. The rate at which X-rated movies are being released is just alarming. There was this cartoon I played for my little niece on my phone, I held the phone while watching the cartoon with her.
This was a cartoon and it was for younger ages, but there were so many inappropriate scenes I had to delete it. I was shocked at the scenes.
Imagine I wasn't there with her and she had to see all those X-rated scenes, hmmm.

I know I wouldn't be able to screen every movie they watch, but while they're still little and under 13, I would try my best to review every movie before they watch it.

Another thing is I can't always control what they see online, with their friends in school, and friends outside school. So the best thing to do is to educate them about these things so that even when they see it, they know it's wrong unless that child just has a corrupt mind and wants to be spoilt.

I was scrolling through the Internet when I saw a post about a cartoon where a 9-year-old girl told her female best friend that she was in love with her and then they kissed.
Okay, first of all, they're the same sex and secondly, they were just 9-year-olds.
Children are very smart and always ready to practice what they've seen and heard.

It's just sad that even PG-13 movies are no longer safe, I just highly feel the best thing to do is to educate them so they won't get to learn about these things from movies because things done in secret are always fun and exciting.
