I have always loved spending time playing online games. Among strategy-based card games in particular, Splinterlands is a favorite of mine. It is a game that relies on card power, tactical variety, and quick thinking. Today, I logged into Splinterlands to unwind during my free time. I thought I would play a casual match to lift my spirits. However, the match turned out to be such a remarkable experience that I wanted to share it with you in simple terms.

I went to the 'Modern Ranked' section of the game and clicked the 'Battle' button. Matchmaking happened within seconds. My opponent's profile appeared on the screen; their ID was SAZED, with a rating close to 1310, and they were playing as a scholar for Archmage. On the other hand, I was playing with my ID, MIRZAIQI, which had a rating of 1300. Seeing the opponent, I realized it was going to be a fierce contest, as we were both players of a similar caliber in Division 7.

I was quite surprised when the battle rules appeared on the screen. The Mana Cap for this match was a massive 84! Those who play Splinterlands regularly know that most matches usually take place within a range of 20, 30, or 40 mana. But a cap of 84 meant the field was wide open; it allowed for deploying as many large, powerful monster cards as one wished. The rule set was 'Standard,' meaning there were no extra difficult or peculiar conditions—just a straightforward battle using our best cards.

In a match with such a high mana cap, selecting the right team is the most crucial task. I had two minutes to assemble my entire team. Upon entering the card selection screen, I saw a variety of excellent options. I chose an Archon—or Summoner—named "Eternal Tofu." Although it looked like a calm cat, its abilities were extraordinary; it granted the entire team's cards extra health, defense, and various other beneficial perks.

Out of the available 84 mana, I strategically spent 74. After all, victory isn't guaranteed simply by spending more mana; proper card positioning is equally crucial.
- At the very front, I placed a card with massive health—a full 20 health and 3 armor. The goal was for this front-line card to stand like a wall, absorbing every blow the opponent threw at us.
- In the rows directly behind it, I positioned powerful attackers and support cards. Their role was to launch fierce assaults on the opponent's monsters from a safe distance.
I arranged my team to ensure a solid defense while maintaining a sharp, potent offense.
After submitting the team, the "Tactics Stage" began, giving me only about 20 seconds. During this phase, I noticed the opponent had chosen a snake-like Summoner, and their front-line card was formidable, boasting 13 health and 6 attack power.
I applied Archon Tofu's special abilities to my front-line card to further boost its survivability. Just then, the countdown ended, and the actual battle commenced.

As the fight began, the opponent's cards launched a barrage of attacks. Yet, my massive front-line card stood firm, unyielding as a mountain. Meanwhile, my powerful back-line cards began launching counter-attacks one after another. Once the opponent's front-line card was eliminated, their weaker back-line cards could no longer withstand my assault. My offensive, backed by the entire team, was so overwhelming that the opponent had no way to stage a comeback.
Putting all speculation to rest, the word "VICTORY!" appeared in large golden letters across the screen, filling me with genuine joy. The satisfaction of successfully concluding such a tough battle is truly beyond words.
This victory brought me some fantastic rewards:
- My rating increased by +20, raising it from 1300 to 1320.
- I earned +2,473 reward points.
- I also received +638 Glint, a valuable in-game currency.
Winning such magnificent matches is the true essence of gaming. After a long day, winning a nail-biting match like this makes all the day's fatigue vanish in an instant. This particular Splinterlands match will remain a memorable and delightful experience for me.
