For those of us who regularly play online games or spend time gaming, the rhythm of our routine is sometimes disrupted by the pressures of daily life. That is exactly what happened to me. Due to various real-life commitments and personal tasks over the past few days, I hadn't been able to log into Splinterlands properly. Today, finding a bit of free time after a long hiatus, I jumped back into the game. Accessing the game dashboard immediately lifted my spirits, as I always find great joy in spending time on this platform and engaging in battles.
My main objective today was to use my accumulated Merits to purchase and open some Gladius packs from the Guild Store. Those of us who regularly participate in Guild Brawls know that Merits earned through the guild can only be spent within the Guild Store. I had a balance of approximately 13,891 Merits in my account. I decided to purchase three Gladius Cases. Since each case costs 2,000 Merits, the total cost for the three cases came to 6,000 Merits.
Before opening the packs, I considered purchasing some boosts to improve my odds of pulling high-quality cards. Each Gladius Case contains five cards, meaning I would receive a total of 15 cards from the three packs. To increase the likelihood of obtaining superior cards, I bought 15 Blood Stones from the Guild Store; these stones double the chance of pulling a Legendary card. Including the guild discount, this purchase cost me 825 Merits. At the same time, I purchased 15 Power Stones for 1,110 Merits to double my chances of getting a Gold Foil card. With everything ready, I proceeded to the main pack-opening phase.
There was a sense of palpable excitement as I opened the first pack. Inside, I found five cards: Alva the Crusher, Helmet Kharafax, Katrelba Gobson, Krash Wanderford, and a Rare card—Ajax Lightfoot. Although the first pack didn't yield any Legendary or Gold Foil cards, I was quite pleased to get Katrelba Gobson; its "Double Attack" and "Bloodlust" abilities play a highly effective role in Brawl battles. Additionally, the Ajax Lightfoot card is quite useful for the Water element.
Next, I clicked to open the second pack. The results were even better than the first, as I pulled an excellent Epic card. The cards included in this pack were Helmet Kharafax, Marisol Contuma, Chimney Wallstop, Bertrol Gobson, and Hugo Strongsword. The highlight here was Marisol Contuma, a Life-element Epic card boasting powerful attack stats and a strong shield. I am also quite fond of the Fire-element card Chimney Wallstop, as it performs exceptionally well in high-mana battles.
Finally, I opened my third and last pack. This pack also contained some useful cards. The cards I pulled include Captain Katie, Katrelba Gobson, Hugo Strongsword, Chimney Wallstop, and Alva the Crusher. Captain Katie is a Rare Magic card and one of the best cards in the Life Splinter, featuring both the Snipe and Bloodlust abilities. I am also pleased to have secured powerful cards like Katrelba and Chimney.
All in all, I managed to collect a total of 15 cards by opening three Gladius cases today. Although I didn't pull any Legendary or Gold Foil cards—even after using Blood Stones and Power Stones—the quality of the cards I did get was quite good. With one Epic card, two Rare cards, and several important Common cards, my guild deck will be significantly strengthened. These Gladiator cards are particularly helpful in Brawl battles.
Returning to the game after a long hiatus due to a busy schedule, this pack-opening experience was truly refreshing. I am very happy with these cards and hope to utilize them effectively in upcoming Brawl matches.
