Hello splinterlands family, what's up. I hope you are all doing well and staying healthy, by the grace of the Creator. Our lives are filled with a mix of ups and downs, joys and sorrows, and the constant hustle of daily routines—yet, I trust that even amidst this busyness, things are going well for you. Thanks to your prayers and affection, I am doing quite well, along with my family. Taking a break from a long stretch of work to engage in a game I enjoy is a great way to shake off mental fatigue. In particular, playing the blockchain-based online card game Splinterlands is always a source of immense joy for me. There is truly no way to describe the satisfaction that comes from using assets earned through one’s own hard work to acquire something new in the game. Today, I want to share one such exciting experience: I purchased five packs from the in-game Guild Store and, upon opening them, discovered some truly remarkable cards.

Those who play this game regularly know just how competitive and thrilling Guild Brawls can be. Securing a victory for one’s guild in these brawls is a matter of great honor, and it also earns players a special in-game currency called "Merits." By participating in numerous brawl matches and fighting alongside my team, I had been accumulating these Merits for quite some time. Once I realized I had saved up enough, I decided it was the perfect moment to visit the Guild Store and expand my card collection. I opted to purchase five "Gladius Cases"—or, as they are commonly known, "Guild Packs." Of course, simply buying the packs isn't enough; to ensure the cards inside are of a higher caliber and possess greater power, one often needs a little extra help—in the form of a "booster." While opening packs under normal conditions offers a certain chance of obtaining good cards, using the right booster stones significantly increases those odds. With this in mind, I did some careful planning before making my purchases.

I started by selecting five Gladius cases, priced at 2,000 Merits each, bringing the total cost for the five packs to 10,000 Merits. Each pack contains five cards, for a total of 25 cards. To improve my chances of pulling better cards, I decided to purchase booster stones. First, I bought 25 Blood Stones; these are special items that double the probability of obtaining a Legendary card. Thanks to an 8% discount from our guild lodge, each Blood Stone cost 55 Merits, making the total for 25 of them 1,375 Merits. Next, I purchased 25 Power Stones, which double the likelihood of the cards being Gold Foil. With the same 8% discount, these cost 74 Merits each, totaling 1,850 Merits for the 25 stones. In total, the five packs and 50 booster stones cost me 13,225 Merits.

Entering the main opening portal after finishing my purchases was an incredibly thrilling experience. Five Gladius cases were laid out, with the Blood Stone and Power Stone charges active. I silently hoped that luck would favor me with at least one Legendary or a fantastic Gold card. As the cards were revealed one by one, I could hardly believe my eyes. Although I didn’t land a Legendary, the remarkable effect of the Power Stone granted me 'Cotrifus Bane'—a powerful card from the Death element—which turned out to be a Gold Foil Rare. The best part is that Gold Foil Rare cards come at Level 2, allowing them to be used at full strength on the battlefield right from the start. Its 'Bloodlust' ability can overwhelm any opponent in an instant.

That’s not all; I also pulled 'Captain Katie'—one of the best Magic attackers in the Life element—not just once, but twice! Captain Katie is a card that proves highly effective in every single battle. Furthermore, I obtained 'Katrelba Gobson,' a formidable and popular offensive card from the Earth element, equipped with both 'Double Strike' and 'Sneak' abilities. Once this card starts landing consecutive hits and boosting its own power through 'Bloodlust,' it becomes nearly impossible to stop. I also secured two copies of 'Chimney Wallstop,' a robust Tank card from the Fire element. Additionally, I added several other useful Rare cards to my collection, including 'Palidon Rakk,' 'Alfredo,' two copies of 'Ajax Lightfoot,' and 'Orella Abaddon.' Also included as common cards were Isgald Vorst, Alva the Crusher, Hugo Strongsword, Crash Wanderford, and Helmet Kharafax.
Taking everything into account, the experience of opening these five packs was entirely successful and rewarding for me. Although I might have felt a bit disappointed about not pulling any legendary cards, that feeling was completely washed away by the joy of obtaining a gold-foil rare Cotrifas Bane, as well as powerful meta-relevant cards like Captain Katie and Katrelba—the latter appearing twice! I firmly believe that these new additions to my deck will help me secure even more victories in upcoming Guild Brawls and tournaments. When long-term hard work pays off with such great results, the joy of gaming increases a thousandfold. I am truly delighted to have been able to share this wonderful experience with you all today. I hope you enjoyed the story of my pack opening. Wishing you all the very best in every aspect of your lives—stay healthy, keep smiling, and take care!
