Realizing that this social media platform my friend suggested could be my ticket to having even the tinest amount of expendable funds. I decided to start doing my own research on HIVE Blog and the HIVE blockchain (known as Steem and Steemit, at that time).

After a week or so of research, browsing around the platform and watching YouTube videos to figure out how it all worked, I decided to give HIVE a chance—and I'm happy that I did. Not only did the platform meet my expectations, it vastly exceeded them.

Within my first month on this blockchain social media platform, I had earned $20 from creating social media posts that I would have otherwise only shared on Twitter or Instagram. Now, I was sharing them in both places, but always on HIVE first, and I was being rewarded for doing so.

On HIVE the more users that upvote (like) your post, the more crypto you earn. If users with more crypto staked in their account like your post (similar to influencers with klout on other social platforms) then you earn that much more than if someone with no social status (aka very little crypto staked) likes your post.

The prospect of being rewarded for the content I was producing made me spend more time crafting each post, instead of just throwing anything at my feed. I didn't spend and obscene amount of time, but my posts did become more thoughtful, and the rewards I earned were a direct reflection of that.

Having just recently watched the movie The Wolf of Wallstreet I knew exactly what I wanted to do with the $20 that I earned. Invest in penny stocks—or the closest thing crypto had in comparison to them.

So, I did more research and I found a crypto that was just coming out. The perfect penny stock, which I would later come to learn are known as "low caps" in crypto speak. Cardano.

I took my full $20 and invested in Cardano at a range of $0.01-$0.02 cents in October 2017.

It didn't take long for me to see what I considered to be a crazy return on my little investment. By December of 2017 Cardano had risen from $0.01 to just under $1 USD, and my $0 chance-investment on a blockchain social media platform had turned into $2000. To say the least, I was hooked, and I haven't stopped learning about crypto since.

Now, why did I just tell you this story? Because you the same thing can be done today, in 2023. While Cardano is no longer $0.01 cents, there are plenty of other tokens under $0.10 that have potential to do 10-20x in the bull run, but you're going to have to do your own research (DYOR) to find them. I suggest checking out a website like Coingecko to get started.

The second option for earning free crypto is in gaming. Games like Gods Unchained are free to play and reward players with the $GODS token based on how well they play and how many NFT cards they use in their deck. The more wins and NFTs you have, the more you can earn daily. Also, winning games and climbing ranks on the weekend can earn you free card packs, which include NFTs. Again, there's no need to pay anything, but you can get started earning.

I don't want to limit you to just Gods Unchained, other games also have similar options. A few other games in the market, with similar offers at the time of writing, include: BigTime, WildForest, and Parallel.

The last option that I'll leave you with for earning free crypto is Coinbase's learn program. This does require creating an account on Coinbase, but it doesn't require ever actually buying crypto there.

To earn free crypto via Coinbase, create an account and navigate to the Learn and Earn section of the app. From there you'll find different cryptos that Coinbase will reward you to learn about, and most take no longer than 5 minutes each.

Here's a video of me going through this process and earning free crypto from Coinbase:

And there you have it. Though I have not mentioned every way that there is to earn crypto for FREE, and start your own journey of going from $0 invested to $2000, I have provided fairly nice roadmap (if I do say so myself).
