Hello, beautiful people!

I am so happy to finally return to sewing after what feels like my first long break from sewing ever. It was all about farm work and more farm work that has kept me busy. Harvest time is often our busiest moment, and I was completely away from sewing and was even scantily present in the community. But guess what? There will soon be a switch when we are done with most of our farming activities, and more rigorous sewing will take over as the festive period begins with a lot of outfits to make for friends, families, and loved ones. It still amazes me that despite the hardship in the country, a lot of people still spare some money to sew new clothes and engage in various celebrations.
It is actually a beautiful thing to do to show that regardless of every situation we have reasons to be joyful and happy, nothing can steal our joy, hence we celebrate.

Today is a beautiful and sunny day here, as the rains have finally packed up to expose sunny weather.

It's such a perfect season to see summer outfits, as we have to wear something more comfortable that will avail our bodies of proper ventilation.

Would you like a summer blouse or dress?

Are you going to the beach this season or some refreshing garden? What would you like to wear, and what do you feel comfortable wearing at this time of the year? I want to hear all about your answers in the comment section.

Today I made my first summer outfit, drawing inspiration from this community.

It is often said that fashion fades but style remains; this is definitely true, as I will be getting @glorydee smiling about how I have borrowed her idea to make my dress.

Okay, let me call this style our needlework monday uniform, as it seems like I am the third person to replicate something in this design with inspiration from @glorydee, who first made a blouse from this style.
Everybody loves the style, let's make it a uniform 😂😂😂

I'm quite sure that @abenad will be smiling, being the second to borrow the style too, and I am more than pleased to steal a style from you both.

My fabric was a transparent flowery chiffon type and perfect for a summer dress, even though it is a bit transparent that will be ideal for beach wear.

Since I love dresses, I chose to sew a dress against the blouse they had both made from the same style.

Here we go.

Cutting the fabric here with excess allowance

Then I got some bias to turn the edges. I wanted the bias to add some light and color to the dress, making it more brighter instead of sewing a normal plain dress.

Then I got some elastic to pull the waist together and give it some fitting there.

That was completed, and my mannequin has been my faithful model, as I often do not find someone to assist me with photos of my outfits.

What do you think of the summer dress?
