We had a wedding ceremony this weekend that just passed and I was meant to be among the family guest.
I got my own invitation letter here.

In our country, Weddings do not often happen without colorful outfits to decorate the day. I got my own 3yards of the the fabrics sold and decided to sew my own wedding guest outfit.

I wasn't bothered about sewing one elegant design as I have a lot on my hands to attend to currently. Our farm harvest work is very much overwhelming at this time and I don't have much time to sew during the day. If I'm making any dresses design at this time, it is usually at night.

I was going to sew something simple yet very unique, pretty and attractive, a designer must always wear the best and appear her best outfit and occasion. people are always watching after the next designs we are going to be wearing.

I folded the fabric and took out a straight dress measurements on it.

Next I got to the dress necklines I wanted some very uniques. I continued to draw the pattern for the neckline until I the design that pleased me. Something beautiful as a sweetheart neckline

Next I cut the back bodice and and the linings in a similar way and proceeded with the sewing of the dress.

Having turned the necklines I spread out the clothes and took the dart measurements..Darts are necessary in sewing to add the beautiful body curve we needed on our designs

Turning the necklines was quick a hassle because of the sweetheart neck folding after achieving success with that I joined the front and back bodice together.

Then I got another straight piece of the fabric to be used as the sleeve

First I sewed the hemming of the sleeve before proceeding to join it to the dress.

I pleated the sleeve round the armhole of the dress and then finally got some elastic band to pull the sleeves together. After than was completed the bulb sleeve was ready.

Ironing and fixing of the zipper was the finals step for the making of the dress and the wedding guest outfit is ready.

The dress looks very simple yet it got the elegant neckline and sleeves I desired. Unless I had sacrificed some sleep I would have been able to make this outfit.
