Yeah, it's obvious people say age is just a number. Well, sometimes it's right, and because you will see someone who is older and see doesn't have sense. And you will see someone who is not aged at all and is very mature. At some point we need to know that maturity can also come from age, but age is different from maturity. But the more you age, the more mature you become.
But my own theory is different, or should I say I do not believe the fact that age is just a number? The more you age, the more you have experience. I believe in respect, and I believe in giving respect to whom it deserves. Well, don't quote me wrong. Not all aged people deserve respect, because fools also grow old. But the fact is, age is not just a number.
If age is just a number, then why don't we know what the elders know? Age comes with a whole lot of things. I, as a person, love to sit where elders are talking, and this is because I will definitely gain one or two things from them. Imagine I say age is just a number, and we start disrespecting our parents. We don't give respect to our parents because age is just a number anyways and we are in the same categories.
People who actually believe age is just a number are just a set of people who love to disrespect the elders. The fact that age comes with learning and experience, because the more you grow old, the more you get to know a lot of things about life. If age is just a number, we should know what our lecturers are teaching us before they even teach us since we are of the same age anyway.
Same things go to couples, but in couples it's a bit different. Well, generally, we have a set of people, I mean, if you are five years older than someone. It still means you are in the same set. But the moment you use ten years and so on, it's another level entirely. There is nothing wrong with getting married to your agemate; as I said earlier, maturity sometimes is different from age, and being on the same age as a couple doesn't mean they are not mature.
At the same time, if a guy is older than a lady in a relationship, it's normal; in fact, this is what the ladies want more in the relationship. Ladies want their men to be older than them. That is why you will see a lady saying I can't date any man who is not five years older than me or more. 90 percent of ladies don't like it when they are older than their man. And men also want to date a young lady, someone they can actually have powers over. More reasons why men don't like to date their agemate are because most times your agemate hadly even gives you respect, and you can't expect a guy at the age of 30 to marry a lady at the age of 30. This is because, to us, the person is getting older.
In summary , age is not just a number because age comes with lots of things. That is why you can't compare a child to an old man.
