Esta serie me había llamado la atención ya que muchas personas habían estado comentando cosas acerca de lo buena que les pareció y quise tener la experiencia de ver una serie que está basada en un asesinato de una joven adolescente. This series had caught my attention since many people had been commenting things about how good they thought it was and I wanted to have the experience of watching a series that is based on a murder of a young teenage girl. La mini-serie de Netflix llamada Adolescencia se estrenó este año en la plataforma y nos cuenta en cuatro episodios de una hora de duración la historia de un joven de trece años que asesinó a su compañera de clases y que es descubierto por la policía, luego de que con pruebas dieran con su rastro. La impresión del joven es de miedo mientras entran a su casa y se lo llevan como un criminal, su familia se ve bastante consternada y no creen que él pudo hacer algo de tal magnitud, pero ese es solo el comienzo de un proceso riguroso dónde se buscará saber más del por qué este joven mato a su compañera.
The Netflix mini-series called Adolescence premiered this year on the platform and tells us in four one-hour episodes the story of a thirteen-year-old boy who murdered his classmate and who is discovered by the police, after they found his trail with evidence. The impression of the young man is one of fear as they enter his house and take him away as a criminal, his family is quite shocked and do not believe that he could do something of such magnitude, but that is only the beginning of a rigorous process where they will seek to know more about why this young man killed his classmate.
Durante las investigaciones nos vamos adentrando en lo que era la vida de este chico antes de cometer el crimen, primero como era su relación con sus amigos en la escuela y se va descubriendo que hay ciertos comportamientos y formas de actuar de los estudiantes que dicen mucho de lo que viven los más jóvenes hoy en día, sintiéndose fuera de lo que sería ser el popular de la clase o el que tiene la relación con la chica más linda. Estos estándares donde si no encajas con el espacio en el que estas entonces eres juzgado por ser un raro.
During the investigations we go into what was the life of this boy before committing the crime, first how was his relationship with his friends at school and we discover that there are certain behaviors and ways of acting of students that say a lot about what the youngest live today, feeling outside of what it would be to be the popular of the class or the one who has the relationship with the prettiest girl. These standards where if you don't fit in with the space you are in then you are judged for being a weirdo.
Además se habla de la relación de el chico con su familia, más que todo con su padre que durante toda la serie lo ví como un posible culpable del crimen pero me lleve una sorpresa al terminar la serie. Se puede decir que en las entrevistas que tuvo el protagonista con una psicóloga que fue un solo episodio corrido donde ambos conversan de la vida del chico y se siente muchísima tensión hasta demostrar que el tiene ciertos problemas para comportarse e ideas de que posiblemente vio en su figura paterna a alguien que nunca fue muy bueno con las mujeres por tener también una crianza donde el mismo expresa que sus padres no le dieron el amor que hubiera querido, nos damos cuenta que este chico estaba herido y tomó la peor decisión.
In addition, it talks about the boy's relationship with his family, especially with his father, who throughout the series I saw as a possible culprit of the crime, but I was surprised when I finished the series. It can be said that in the interviews that the protagonist had with a psychologist, which was a single episode where both talk about the boy's life and you can feel a lot of tension to show that he has certain problems to behave and ideas that he possibly saw in his father figure someone who was never very good with women for also having an upbringing where he expresses that his parents did not give him the love he would have wanted, we realize that this boy was hurt and made the worst decision.
Muchos dicen que el chico tiene rasgos de psicópata o algún trastorno mental, aunque no soy ninguna especialista en psicología o psiquiatria pienso que puede que el chico tuviera algún problema para controlar sus impulsos y también estuviera muy molesto por lo que vivía como estudiante. No estoy justificando lo que él hizo, pienso que se unieron muchas cosas para que al final el tomara la decisión de acabar con su compañera de clases. Pero sin duda tenía una gran baja autoestima y una mala relación con la idea de lo que son las relaciones y la idea de querer ser visto como alguien importante.
Many say that the boy has psychopathic traits or some mental disorder, although I am not a specialist in psychology or psychiatry I think that maybe the boy had some problem to control his impulses and was also very upset by what he lived as a student. I am not justifying what he did, I think that many things came together to make him make the decision to kill his classmate. But he certainly had very low self-esteem and a bad relationship with the idea of what relationships are and the idea of wanting to be seen as important.
Es muy triste que alguien tan joven tomara un decisión que acabó por completo con su vida y su futuro, pero es bueno que mostrarán en este documental una problemática que se viene viviendo desde hace muchos años, hay jóvenes con problemas en sus casas y además la presión social de ser parte de un grupo como en el colegio es algo que no todos toman de la misma manera. Me gusto el final aunque siento que me impacto más de lo que imaginé, sin duda los padres quedaron destrozados y con muchas preguntas sobre cómo estuvieron criando a su hijo, aunque no siempre es culpa de los padres, muchas veces los niños nacen ya con problemas que si no se atienden a tiempo terminan en situaciones de esta magnitud como la historia de la serie.
It is very sad that someone so young made a decision that completely ended his life and his future, but it is good that they showed in this documentary a problem that has been living for many years, there are young people with problems in their homes and also the social pressure of being part of a group like in school is something that not everyone takes in the same way. I liked the ending although I feel that it impacted me more than I imagined, no doubt the parents were devastated and with many questions about how they were raising their child, although it is not always the fault of the parents, many times children are born with problems that if not addressed in time end up in situations of this magnitude as the story of the series.
La historia es verdaderamente atrapante y sobre todo la forma en la que fue grabada en una sola toma durante todos los episodios, hace que se sienta más realista y que estemos viendo casi en vivo el proceso del descubrimiento de la muerte de esta joven y los motivos que llevaron al chico a tomar esta decisión tan drástica. Verdaderamente la policía hace un trabajo bastante bueno, son amables con el a pesar de ser un asesino porque desde el primer episodio lo dicen claramente. Es una buena serie, con una historia muy realista y con actuaciones bastante buenas, además de una dirección que te mantiene con la intriga hasta el final por saber cuál es la verdad detrás de toda esta situación. Cada uno verá de manera diferente esta serie y sacará sus propias conclusiones, pero es bueno que existan está clase de series donde las personas puedan abrir los ojos ante lo que se vive en el día a día con los cambios que existen en el mundo.
The story is truly gripping and especially the way it was filmed in one take during all the episodes, makes it feel more realistic and we are seeing almost live the process of the discovery of the death of this young girl and the reasons that led the boy to take this drastic decision. Truly the police do a pretty good job, they are kind to him despite being a murderer because from the first episode they make it clear. It is a good series, with a very realistic story and very good performances, plus a direction that keeps you intrigued until the end to know what is the truth behind all this situation. Everyone will see this series differently and will draw their own conclusions, but it is good that there are this kind of series where people can open their eyes to what is lived in the day to day with the changes that exist in the world.
