Hello, anime fans. We’re back with another TOP list dedicated to that fantasy subgenre that has become just as popular—or even more so—than the genre from which it originated. Isekai is a genre that has become quite popular over the last decade, to the point where it’s been exploited with an endless stream of new series released every quarter. Currently, there are so many generic Isekai anime that aren’t worth watching, and they overshadow the true gems that deserve to be seen. That’s why I’m bringing you this special section where I’ll talk about the best of this genre.
Unfortunately, this season is no exception when it comes to those generic Isekai anime, but even so, there were a couple of series that returned stronger than ever—and those are the ones I’ll be discussing below. Just a reminder that what you’re about to read is solely my personal opinion. I’d also like to note that each anime in this TOP list will be ranked from 1 to 10, starting with the lowest-rated and ending with the highest-rated. If you’re an Isekai fan and you’re tired of watching the same generic anime over and over, I invite you to stick around until the end of this post.
Hola, fanáticos del anime. Volvemos con otro TOP dedicado a ese subgénero de la fantasía que se ha vuelto igual o incluso más popular que el género del cual se origina. El Isekai es un género que se popularizó bastante en esta última década hasta tal punto de ser explotado con un caudal infinito de nuevas obras emitidas trimestralmente. Actualmente hay tantos animes Isekai genéricos que no valen la pena ver y que opacan a las verdaderas obras que merecen ser vistas. Es por esto que les traigo esta sección especial donde les hablo de lo mejor de este género.
Lamentablemente esta temporada no se exenta de dichos animes Isekai genéricos, pero aún así hubo un par de obras que regresaron con más fuerza que nunca y sobre ellas son las que les hablaré a continuación. Les recuerdo que lo que leerán será únicamente mi opinión personal. También les aviso que cada anime de este TOP serán clasificados del 1 al 10, empezando por el de menor calificación y terminando con el de mayor calificación. Let's start with a perfect example of what I call a generic isekai anime. A series that only briefly caught people's attention at the beginning because of its Fanservice. It’s the same old story with the same old clichés, except for the names and the occasional minor detail. Based on the light novel series of the same name written by Atekichi and illustrated by Akira Shigaraki, this anime (whose name I’m not going to mention) was produced by Studio Flad. The anime tells the story of a young man named Hibiki Manabe, who was transported to a fantasy world.
Now that I think about it, this isn’t really a “TOP” list, since I’ll basically be talking about all the Isekai anime that aired this spring season (yes, I watched five Isekai anime). Honestly, if it were up to me, I would never have mentioned this anime at all because of how generic it is—really. Its plot, characters, typical clichés, and excessive Fanservice make it a perfect example of everything that’s wrong with this genre right now. I’ll just say that I didn’t even feel like continuing to watch it after the first three or four episodes.
Empezamos con un ejemplo perfecto de lo que yo llamo un anime Isekai genérico. Una obra que únicamente llegó a llamar brevemente la atención al principio debido al Fanservice que posee. La típica historia de siempre con los típicos clichés de siempre, solo que son nombres y uno que otro detalle pequeño diferente. Basada en la serie de novelas ligeras homónima escrita por Atekichi e ilustrada por Akira Shigaraki, este anime (con un nombre que no voy a escribir) fue producido por Studio Flad. El anime nos cuenta la historia del joven Hibiki Manabe, quien fue transportado a un mundo de fantasía.
Ahora que veo bien, esto no es un TOP ya que prácticamente les hablaré de todos los animes Isekai que se emitieron en esta temporada de primavera (si, fueron cinco animes Isekai los que vi). Honestamente si fuera por mí, jamás hubiera hablado de este anime por lo genérico que es, de verdad. Tanto su trama como sus personajes y los típicos clichés y el excesivo Fanservice que tiene lo hacen un ejemplo perfecto de todo lo que está mal en este género actualmente. Solo les diré que ni siquiera me dieron ganas de seguir viéndolo después de sus primeros tres o cuatro capítulos.

But there’s no need to go into detail just to predict what the story is about, since it’s the same old thing—the same one we’ve discussed in previous genre TOPs. The typical protagonist who appears weak but actually possesses considerable power in this fantasy world. The typical hero’s or adventurer’s journey where he assembles a team. The typical supporting characters—all forgettable and generic. Oh, and the ever-present fanservice, though there are details like the absence of the harem of women that every protagonist usually has. Or who knows—I didn’t watch the whole thing.
What I can say is that the animation caught my attention, at least at the beginning—which always stands out since they put more effort into the production at the start to hook the audience. But one thing’s for sure: the anime maintains a decent level of quality in terms of character design, visual effects, static and moving shots, a varied color palette, and so on. The animation isn’t the smoothest or the best on this list, but it actually holds up for most of the series, especially in action scenes. The sound effects and soundtrack aren’t too bad either.
Personally, I’d give it a 7/10 rating within the Isekai genre.
Pero tampoco hace falta hacerlo como para predecir de qué trata su historia ya que es la misma de siempre, la misma que hemos hablado en TOPs anteriores del género. Típico protagonista que aparenta ser débil, pero que en realidad tiene una habilidad bastante grande en este mundo de fantasía. Típico camino del héroe o de aventurero que reúne un equipo. Típicos personajes secundarios todos olvidables y genéricos. Ah, y el Fanservice que nunca falta, aunque hay detalles como la ausencia del Harem de mujeres que tiene todo protagonista. O quién sabe, no lo vi completo.
Lo que sí puedo decir que me llamó la atención fue su animación, al menos al principio que siempre destaca ya que le meten una mejor producción al principio para así enganchar a la audiencia. Pero lo seguro es que el anime mantiene ese mínimo de calidad en cuanto a diseño de personajes, efectos visuales, planos fijos y en movimiento, paleta variada de colores, etc. La animación no es la más fluida o la mejor de esta lista, pero en realidad se mantiene durante gran parte del anime, sobre todo en escenas de acción. Los efectos de sonido y la banda sonora tampoco están tan mal.
Personalmente, le doy una calificación de 7/10 en lo que respecta al género Isekai.

Let’s talk about the return of another generic isekai anime that I got to know back in the day and which, I’ll admit, was personally very entertaining. A less impactful sequel, but just as funny and enjoyable for those looking for something a little different from what’s typical in this genre. Based on the light novel series of the same name written by Kinozuke Naito and illustrated by Yazumo, Farming Life in Another World (Season 2) was produced by studio Zero-G. This second season brings back the adventures of the growing Great Tree Village, led by Mayor Hikaru Machito.
While this Isekai anime was entertaining at the time due to its premise of making the protagonist—not a hero or an adventurer, but a simple farmer in a fantastical, medieval world—it still has its share of typical genre clichés, such as the protagonist’s ever-present harem of women (a detail that the anime itself highlights more than once in this second season), for example. I like the anime’s humor a bit, since it’s not as suggestive or heavy-handed as it is in other generic Isekai animes.
Hablemos del regreso de otro anime Isekai genérico que llegué a conocer en su momento y que admito, personalmente, fue muy entretenido. Una continuación menos impactante, pero igual de graciosa y amena para los que buscan algo un tanto diferente a lo que es común en este género. Basada en la serie de novelas ligeras homónimas escritas por Kinozuke Naito e ilustradas por Yazumo, Farming Life in Another World (Season 2) fue producida por el estudio Zero-G. Esta segunda temporada regresan las aventuras del creciente Pueblo del Gran Árbol donde nos guía el Alcalde Hikaru Machito.
Si bien fue entretenido este anime Isekai en su momento debido a su premisa de hacer del protagonista, no un héroe ni un aventurero, sino un simple granjero en un mundo fantástico y medieval. Sin embargo, esto no quita que tenga sus típicos clichés genéricos como lo es el bendito Harem de mujeres que tiene el protagonista (que incluso el mismo anime en esta segunda temporada resalta este detalle más de una ocasión), por ejemplo. El humor que tiene el anime me gusta un poco ya que no es tan sugerente o pesado como lo es en otros animes Isekai genéricos.

Other than that, the plot doesn’t offer any more epic or interesting moments beyond watching our protagonist’s village grow, hold celebrations, and go on the occasional adventure. Nor does it have any characters who stand out or undergo notable character development, or anything of the sort. Action is the last thing you’ll see here, since we’re talking about a farmer in a village on the verge of becoming a city, inhabited by various fantastical creatures. Although, of course, most of those creatures are female and designed in a highly sexualized way. It doesn’t have that much Fanservice, though—I do appreciate that.
Finally, there’s the animation, which doesn’t improve much compared to the previous season—quite the opposite, in fact. I’m not saying the animation is terrible, since I’ve seen worse, but I will say that certain drawing styles and motion effects are regrettable. You can also see that they rely heavily on static shots and slow motion throughout most of the episodes. The visual and sound effects are acceptable, but nothing to write home about. The soundtrack doesn’t stand out enough for me to say I like it either.
Personally, I give it a rating of 7.5/10 as far as the isekai and comedy genres are concerned.
De resto, la trama no da para más momentos épicos o interesantes que solo ver al pueblo de nuestro protagonista crecer, realizar celebraciones y hacer una que otra aventura. Tampoco tiene personajes que destaquen o tengan un desarrollo notable ni nada por el estilo. Acción es lo que menos se ve ya que estamos hablando de un granjero con un pueblo a punto de ser una ciudad con distintos seres fantásticos habitando en él. Aunque, claro, la mayoría de esos seres son femeninos y con un diseño muy sexualizable. No tiene tanto Fanservice, eso sí lo agradezco.
Por último está su animación, la cual no mejora mucho en comparación con su temporada anterior, sino más bien todo lo contrario. No digo que tenga una pésima animación ya que he visto peores, pero sí voy a decir que tiene ciertos estilos de dibujo y efectos de movimiento que son lamentables. Se puede ver que también dependen mucho de los planos fijos y con movimiento lento en gran parte de sus capítulos. Los efectos visuales y de sonido son aceptables, pero nada del otro mundo. La banda sonora tampoco es que resalte tanto como para decir que me guste.
Personalmente, le doy una calificación de 7.5/10 en lo que respecta al género isekai y comedia.

We continue with the return of another anime that also went somewhat unnoticed at the time, as it was part of a niche subgenre of Isekai—specifically, Reverse Isekai. The continuation of a story filled with drama, conquest, diplomacy, and a touch of romance. Based on the light novel series of the same name written by Tenichi and illustrated by Suzunosuke, The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen (Season 2) was produced by OLM studio. The second season begins with our protagonist, Princess Piride Royal Ivy, and her friends—now teenagers—about to celebrate her birthday.
This is one of those Isekai anime that’s different from what you usually see in this genre, simply because it’s part of a very specific subgenre where the stories revolve around a female protagonist who is sent to a world inspired by her favorite otome game. Yes, it’s like the female version of generic Isekai, complete with a harem of men, romantic clichés, and melodrama. Still, I’ll admit I enjoyed watching the first season because of the mix of drama and humor—and it even had some action thrown in. The premise hooked me at the time, and I found it entertaining.
Seguimos con otro regreso de otro anime que también pasó un tanto desaparecido en su momento ya que formaba parte de una pequeña división del género Isekai, específicamente del Isekai Inverso. La continuación de una historia repleta de drama, conquista, diplomacia y algo de romance. Basada en la serie de novelas ligeras homónimas escritas por Tenichi e ilustradas por Suzunosuke, The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen (Season 2) fue producida por el estudio OLM. La segunda temporada inicia con nuestra protagonista, la princesa Piride Royal Ivy y sus amigos ya adolescentes a punto de celebrar su cumpleaños.
He aquí uno de esos anime Isekai distintos a lo que es común ver en este género, simplemente porque forma parte de un subgénero muy específico donde sus historias tratan de una protagonista que es enviada a un mundo inspirado en un juego otome de su preferencia. Si, es como la versión femenina de los Isekai genéricos, con todo y su harem de hombres, clichés románticos y melodramas. Aún así, admito que me he entretenido viendo su primera temporada debido a la mezcla de drama como humor e incluso tenía algo de acción y todo. La premisa me enganchó en su momento y la vi entretenida.

Of course, let’s just say I can’t see it the same way now, since I’ve watched a considerable number of anime with plots similar to this one since then. Honestly, I didn’t expect much from this second season, and yet it still ended up disappointing me quite a bit. The focus here is on all the drama that unfolds over these twelve episodes regarding the protagonist, the events following her birthday, and her romantic suitors. I won’t deny that I was entertained by all the melodrama, the plot twists, and the way each situation was resolved.
But beyond the occasional laugh, the dialog and inspirational speeches, and the melodramatic moments—which are later replaced by praise and indirect declarations of love from the protagonist’s harem of men—this season didn’t offer anything else worth watching, let alone with its disappointing ending. The animation, of course, left a lot to be desired—especially since it was an entire season with very few moments where the animators could really show off their skills, to be honest. The quality and fluidity are kept to a bare minimum, with simple visual and motion effects and little else.
Personally, I give it a rating of 8/10 in terms of the isekai, drama, and romance genres.
Claro, actualmente digamos que no puedo verlo igual ya que desde entonces he visto una cantidad considerable de animes con una trama similar a la que tiene este anime. Honestamente no esperaba mucho de esta segunda temporada y aún así me terminó decepcionando bastante. El tema de esto recae en todo el drama que se va desarrollando en estos doce episodios con lo que respecta a la protagonista y los eventos posteriores a su cumpleaños y sus pretendientes amorosos. No voy a negar que me entretuvo todo el melodrama que hubo, los giros de trama y la forma en la que resolvían cada caso.
Pero más allá de una que otra risa, diálogos y discursos inspiradores y momentos melodramáticos que son posteriormente sustituídos por alabanzas y declaraciones de amor indirectas del Harem de hombres que tiene la protagonista, esta temporada no ofreció nada más interesante para ver, mucho menos con su lamentable final. La animación, por supuesto, dió mucho qué desear y más al tratarse de toda una temporada con muy pocos momentos donde pudieran lucirse los animadores, la verdad. La calidad y fluidez se mantienen en lo más mínimo, con efectos visuales y de movimiento simples y poco más.
Personalmente, le doy una calificación de 8/10 en lo que respecta al género Isekai, drama y romance.

Let’s now talk about one of the most eagerly awaited returns—not just for me, but for many other Isekai fans as well. It’s one of the few anime in this genre that’s worth watching because of how fascinating its story, characters, and world are. It’s also considered one of the best Isekai series out there today. Based on the light novel series of the same name written by Fuze and illustrated by Mitz Vah, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Season 4) is produced by the studio Eight Bit. This fourth season begins with our protagonist, Rimuru, looking out over his massive city of Tempest.
Out of dozens of Isekai anime about reincarnation and all that, one of the very, very few that has entertained me from start to finish is the anime I’m bringing you today. TenSura is, without exaggeration, among my TOP 5 Best Isekai Anime of all time. Its story, characters, world-building, and other elements—whether comedic, dramatic, action-packed, or fantasy-filled—make it a series that many people are sure to enjoy. Its massive franchise, built on the success of its previous three seasons, a great movie, and a couple of OVAs, makes it a series rich in stories yet to be told.

Tanto su historia, personajes, construcción de mundo y demás elementos cómicos, dramáticos y repletos de acción y fantasía la hacen una obra que puede llegar a gustarle a más de uno. Su enorme franquicia hecha por su éxito con sus anteriores tres temporadas y una gran película y un par de OVAs lo vuelven una obra rica en historias por contar.

As if all that weren't enough, the anime also showcases, from start to finish, a truly excellent character development of both the protagonist and his entire entourage and kingdom of monsters. By the way, this is another standout aspect I really love about the anime: the way it portrays the monsters of this world as yet another race of intelligent beings with emotions and customs—not just as enemies or threats to humanity. The anime also offers an excellent portrayal of what is now known as the Kingdom of Tempest and its impact and influence on this world.
In this fourth season, we’re promised an expansion of this aspect with new challenges to come in the dozens of episodes they have in store for us for the rest of this year. Who knows—maybe we’re looking at the season that will propel TenSura to the top of the TOP Best Isekai Animes. The animation, on the other hand, is an absolute audiovisual marvel. It features great character design, smooth animation, a bright and varied color palette, and very well-integrated visual effects. The action scenes are truly a marvel. The sound effects are sublime and resonant, as is the soundtrack.
Personally, I’m giving it a preliminary rating of 9/10 within the Isekai genre.
Por si no fuera suficiente con todo esto, el anime también nos muestra de principio a fin un desarrollo bastante excelente tanto del protagonista como de todo su séquito y reino de monstruos. Por cierto, esto es otro punto a destacar que me gusta mucho del anime y es la forma en la que nos pintan a los monstruos de este mundo como otra raza más de seres inteligentes con emociones y costumbres y no solo como enemigos o amenazas para la humanidad. El anime también nos ofrece una construcción excelente de lo que actualmente se puede decir que es el Reino de Tempest y su impacto e influencia en este mundo.
En esta cuarta temporada nos prometen expandir esto último con nuevos desafíos por venir en las próximas decenas de episodios que nos tienen preparado para el resto de este año. Quién sabe, tal vez estemos frente a la temporada que llevará a TenSura a la cima del TOP Mejores Animes Isekai. Su animación, por otra parte, es una completa maravilla audiovisual. Contando con un buen diseño de personajes, fluidez, paleta brillante y variada de colores y efectos visuales muy bien agregados. Las escenas de acción son toda una maravilla, de verdad. Los efectos de sonido son sublimes y resonantes, al igual que lo es su banda sonora.
Personalmente, le doy una prematura calificación de 9/10 en lo que respecta al género Isekai.

To end on a high note—with the best of the best, the epitome of the Isekai genre—I couldn’t think of a better way to do it than with the long-awaited return of my favorite anime, the Best Isekai of All Time. It’s the masterfully crafted continuation of a fantastic, dark, and profound story brimming with drama, psychological suspense, mystery, and action. Based on the light novel series of the same name written by Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrated by Shinichirou Otsuka, Re:Zero (Season 4) is produced by White Fox studio. This fourth season picks up right where the previous season left off, with our protagonist, Subaru Natsuki, preparing for a new and dangerous mission.
I’ll admit that this time around, I really got swept up in all the excitement and HYPE that had been building on social media for quite a while about this fourth season and what it had in store. But even so, I thoroughly enjoyed each of the 11 episodes that make up this first part of the season. And that’s no surprise, given that this is Re:Zero, an anime that has proven time and again in its previous seasons just how different it is from all the other isekai animes out there today. The anime knows how to capture our attention with every episode, expanding and building a perfect world that makes us feel a flood of emotions every minute, right up to its incredibly powerful finale.
Para finalizar con broche de oro, con lo mejor de lo mejor, con la epítome del género Isekai, no encontré una mejor manera de hacerlo que con el tan esperado regreso de mi anime favorito, el Mejor Isekai de Todos. La continuaci ón mejor hecha de una fantástica, oscura y profunda historia repleta de drama, suspenso psicológico, misterio y acción. Basada en la serie de novelas ligeras homónimas escritas por Tappei Nagatsuki e ilustradas por Shinichirou Otsuka, Re:Zero (Season 4) es producida por el estudio White Fox. Esta cuarta temporada empieza justo después de lo que ocurre al final de la temporada anterior con nuestro protagonista, Subaru Natsuki preparándose para una nueva y peligrosa misión.
Admito que esta vez sí me dejé llevar por toda la emoción y el HYPE que hubo en redes sociales durante un buen tiempo por esta cuarta temporada y lo que se venía con ella. Pero aún así, disfruté muchísimo cada uno de sus 11 episodios que forman esta primera parte de la temporada. Y no es de sorprenderse al tratarse de Re:Zero, un anime que ha demostrado múltiples veces en sus temporadas anteriores lo diferente que es a todos los demás animes Isekai que existen en la actualidad. El anime sabe cómo capturar nuestra atención con cada capítulo, expandiendo y construyendo un espacio perfecto para hacernos sentir un gran caudal de emociones cada minuto hasta su fuertísimo final.

There are literally episodes that blow your mind, tear you apart inside, and leave your head spinning with questions and a whirlwind of mixed emotions. Every plot twist in this fourth season is even more mind-blowing than the last, with twists that drive you crazy and make it clear that, from that point on, nothing will ever be the same again. The anime knows how to make you grow attached to—or even hate—each of its characters, whether they’re main or supporting. This is because it does such a great job of developing each one, and the relationships that form throughout the series feel as natural as possible.
In this fourth season, there aren’t many action scenes, but the ones that are there are more than enough to make you feel a whole range of emotions. There are confrontations that ramp up the excitement, keep you entertained, and even hit you right in the gut as if you were that person yourself. The psychological theme it explores is mind-blowing and quite well executed. But the most fascinating aspect of all is its audiovisual presentation, which really shone this season. Aside from its stunning, detailed, and uncensored visuals, the anime also boasts an excellent level of quality and visual detail. The fluidity, use of light and shadow, and movement really stand out, as do the sound effects and the soundtrack. This is an Isekai anime that I definitely recommend watching—without exception.
Personally, I give it a well-deserved 10/10 rating in terms of the Isekai, psychological suspense, and horror genres.
Literalmente hay episodios que te vuelan la cabeza, te destruyen por dentro y te dejan con el cerebro repleto de preguntas y muchos sentimientos encontrados. Cada Plot-Twist que nos tiene esta cuarta temporada es cada vez más alucinante que el anterior, con un giro de trama que te deja loco y te da a entender que, a partir de ahí, ya nada será como antes. El anime sabe cómo hacer que te encariñes o hasta odies a cada uno de sus personajes, ya sean principales o secundarios. Esto se debe a que logra desarrollarlos muy bien a cada uno y las relaciones que se entablan a lo largo de la obra son de lo más natural posible.
En esta cuarta temporada no tenemos muchas escenas de acción, pero las que hay son más que suficiente para hacerte sentir de todo. Hay enfrentamientos que te elevan la emoción, te entretienen y hasta te dan en lo más bajo como si tú fueras esa persona. El tema psicológico que se maneja es una cosa de locos, bastante bien hecho. Pero lo más fascinante de todo es su apartado audiovisual, el cual se lució bastante en esta temporada. Aparte de lo bien gráfico, detallado y sin ninguna censura que es; el anime también posee un nivel de calidad y detalles visuales bastante excelente. La fluidez, uso de luces y sombras y movimientos destacan muy bien, al igual que lo hacen los efectos de sonido y la banda sonora. Este es un anime Isekai que sí te recomiendo ver, sin excepción alguna.
Personalmente, le doy una merecida calificación de 10/10 en lo que respecta al género Isekai, suspenso psicológico y horror.
