My colleagues at work
Teaching is one of the jobs I would love to do till the day I leave the surface of this earth. This is one of the professions that I found noble and passionate. Working in an academic environment gives me joy and fulfilment and there is this deep confidence I have that I am heading in the right direction. Since my childhood, I have had this inclination to impart knowledge. I recall always calling my neighbour's friends and sitting them down and teaching them. One thing I have discovered about the teaching profession is that it is not for everybody. Nobody can just wake up to become a teacher. Teaching must span from your passion. I remember pursuing a tech skill because I saw it as a saleable skill in the market but in the end, I had no fulfilment and passion for it any longer. Therefore, one must be passionate about teaching. You must exhibit some characteristics and behaviours that can make you succeed as a teacher. Some characters are exclusive to the teaching profession which makes the job exclusive to a certain set of people. Characters like patience, love, joviality, etc. are characters that help one succeed as a teacher.

My students
Teaching job especially in my country is one of the jobs that lots of people do not like to do because it does not yield high return on investments. Teachers are poorly paid hence lots of people are running away from it. Hence anyone who is into teaching will likely dislike the work. Working to make money is good but when money is a driving force for choosing a job, one is likely going to dump the job when it suddenly becomes unprofitable. A born teacher is not driven by money because if that were the case, then many people would leave the job.
Watching someone grow and transform from nothing to something is one of the greatest happiness any teacher can have. It takes patience and perseverance for one to be able to under such a task. Teaching a once dullard to become useful skillful and responsible is the highest and toughest job on earth. We have seen lots of blunders committed by those who do not have the pedigree of being a teacher. Some of those blunders are beating up a child who is unable to grasp what he is being taught, not exercising patience with learners, and not having the right skills necessary for teaching.

Myself and my students during our ICT week
I am currently building up a career in education. I am seeing myself in the next few years as a great educator reaching the peak of my career. Developing young minds and training them to be better citizens will in turn develop society. Currently, I am a private school teacher. I have spent about five years in the teaching profession. To elevate my career, I aspire to become a lecturer at the university, which I am sure will become a reality in no distance time.
Our society today needs passionate and hardworking teachers to be able to mould the next generation of leaders. The roles of teachers in societies cannot be accurately described as they play important roles in nation-building and societal development.
