As 2024 Ends...

I finally found the time to sit down and reflect on how the year has been for me!

Don't get me wrong, though. I have had to do some periodic stock taking at different times during the year, but this end of year reflection just helps me take a look at the bigger picture of the entire year. The following questions from @cautiva-30 couldn't have been more timely!

1️⃣ Think a little bit about your life, about how you have lived the year that is ending. Do you identify any aspects that have been left behind? Are you still dreaming of something you haven't achieved?

2️⃣ If you think that this year it's time to embrace those small changes that can make a big difference in your life, are you ready for a change? Is there something you know you should change?

Much as I would have loved to say that I crushed all my goals for the year, the truth remains that there are still some 'lands' waiting for me to conquer.

I said that those lands are waiting for me because I refuse to give up on my dreams.

I had wanted to fully transition to an online business, unfortunately I am still 'dreaming' about it at this time. Perhaps, if I had focused more attention, energy and time on doing the needful, I would be telling a different story now.

Rather, most of my time and energy was spent trying to make my offline business work, and it was too draining for me to the point of almost forgetting what I truly wanted... sounds ironic, right?

But then, as long as we are alive, it is very possible to rewrite our story.

This brings me to the second question:

The coming year is like a clean slate being handed to me, an opportunity to pursue, overtake and recover all.

The first thing I want to change is how I spend my time, and what I spend my time on (I mean that extra time that I am not occupied with office work).

I know how easy it is to become distracted with all the things going on around me, especially the demands of family and work.

That is why I have decided to block out minimum of two hours every day for the purpose of creatively working on my goals. Of course that means moments of meditation and mindfulness will be observed for optimum results.

Another area that I definitely have to seriously watch is my health. I gained so much weight in the past year, and I know it is time to watch it. For This reason, I plan to make some adjustments to my diet and lifestyle to better my health.

So in the coming year, I am going to lower my carbs intake and also engage more in exercises. No need to worry, I know my limits, and I'm really focusing on moderation not punishment.

So, that being said, it is time for me to start taking the steps I need to take. Above all, it is time to get back into the presence of God to seek His face, for wisdom, favour and guidance. If the Lord doesn't help me, then I would have taken those steps in vain.

I know you are wishing me the best, and I wish you the best too.

Thank you for reading my post. It is my response to the questions by @cautiva-30 in this post right here in the Ladies Of Hive Community.
