You’d agree with me if I said this generation of ours doesn’t really know the meaning of love. For some ladies, it’s all about which guy takes them to the nicest locations to eat and also get nice pictures to post and give their friends fake ‘pressure’. For some guys, it’s about the lady who can cook, wash and do the duties of a wife.

We most at times forget that there’s more to love than we think is. I’d like to believe that most people’s definition of love reflects how they grew up and how they have been shown love growing up. For example, let’s assume while growing up your parents always gave you sweets as a way of apologizing or just to get you to forget about what they’ve done to offend you instead of actually talking about. As you grow up, you’d also start giving people thinks they like when you offend them thinking that it’s just going to take the pain and hurt you’ve caused them away.

All these eventually play a role is the youth of today finding it difficult to have positive relationships. It’s more than obvious that most of us don’t even know what love feels like anymore because we are so used to toxic relationships to the extent that when we meet someone who treats us right, we think they’re stupid or boring. Everyone deserves a positive relationship , if you can’t find one it’s okay to be single.

I’m still trying to understand how people think being single is a bad thing. Our brother @yahuzah is single and he’s not dead.😂😂 Anyways, my point is sometimes we need to even give ourselves a break from relationships. You can’t be jumping from one toxic relationship to another. At least give yourself some time to heal and move on before you hop into an another relationship. That way, you’d be able to give your partner your all and not feel bad for your relationship being one sided.

Love is a beautiful thing and we all deserve to experience it with the right people. It’s not all rosy, but at least you deserve to have peace at the end of the day. No one wants to be in a relationship where they constantly feel threatened or belittled. You need to run as far and fast as you can if you find yourself in such a situation. Let’s say no to toxic and manipulative relationships.
