Growing up, we all had our parents advise us against bad friends and being influenced by friends. We thought it was a joke until we fell victim to it. Peer pressure is something we’ve all fallen victim to at least once on our lives and there’s no denying that. I’ve seen how some of my friends were being influenced by other people to engage in or do stuff they would have never done in their lives. Sometimes, the friends we make and the people we have around us shape us into who we are and this eventually determines what our future will look like.

I’ve had my fair share of bad friends and I’ve equally had my share of good friends also. At this stage in my life, the only thing I make time for is positivity and good friendships. I don’t have a billion and one friends but the ones I do have are more than I can ever ask for. When we speak of supportive, I can boast that I have the most supportive friend group ever. No matter how big or how small what I am to do is, they’re always there rooting for me.

This friend group of mine have influenced me into both good and bad stuff(sometimes😂) but the good obviously outweighs the bad. I remember this situation I had last year and how my friends managed to influence me into going against my initial plan. Today, I look back and thank God for giving me friends who will push me to take the risk. Cos I’m not really that much of a risk taker.

So, sometimes last year, I was working on a project which I hoped would turn out well. I devoted a lot of time to it only for everything to go the other way round. Being the person that I am, I wasn’t happy at all and my spirit was down. After a week, I decided to give up on it and just live my normal life. What’s the worst that could happen? Nothing!

But guess what? My friends wouldn’t have it. They managed to talk me into trying things another way. Telling me that maybe this was Gods way to make me learn things differently and all of that. I listened to them and gave it a go again after weeks of them talking non stop. Today, I can say we are in a good standing with this project and I’m doing way better than when I started. Anytime I think back, I have my friends to thank for how far I’ve come with this project. They’ve been with me through the good days and even the bad days and in the future, I hope to replay them back a million folds.

Friends are just people you talk to, your friends are those who build with you , walk with you and hold your hand with every step you take. Your friends define you, so choose the right friends.
