Difficult moments in life seem inevitable, but I believe they're usually a temporary phase that passes by. Sometimes it can be overwhelming and even discouraging; it could get us out of control, and we feel sad deep within us. In the past, once I was passing through a difficult phase, I would find myself soaking my pillows with tears. I have this fragile heart to the point that controlling my emotions is quite difficult when I face different kinds of issues. But then, I have never gotten answers through tears; rather, it worsens the situation by attracting sickness thereafter. The other time, a neighbor asked if I was on slimming tea 🍵☕ as I was seriously losing weight due to overthinking and bunches of burden in my heart; It wasn't a pleasant experience, but, I later had an encounter with a woman who later became a mentor to me.
She was so sensitive to my situation, even with my fake smiles to the world, claiming that all was well with me. The woman was a lifesaver, and she taught me some simple actions to take to help find balance during a difficult moment, which I will share below.
Connecting with friends and family: This is one action I don't joke with since I discovered how helpful it can be. I remember the time I had my last baby, almost 3 years ago. My doctor, upon examination, booked me for an elective cesarean section. I returned home and told my husband, and we began getting ready for it gradually. After a few days, I started receiving calls from some of my in-laws, and they were like, "Surgery again? Why not try natural birth like your fellow women? Why the third surgery? Is it that you don't have the strength to push your baby or that you have excess money to dash the doctors? and many more unexpected queries I received from the people I expected to be there for me. I wanted to cry, but I controlled my emotions and reflected on what my mentor told me. I quickly picked up my phone and called my brothers and a few of my friends, who gave me their shoulders to lean on. The people who cared to know the reasons why I am in for the 3rd cesarean section. They heard me out, which boosted my mood, and I drew strength and courage from them. They sure eased a lot of stress I went through during those moments, and I can boldly say that this action works well for me during difficult moments.

Practicing meditation: finding a coping mechanism during a difficult moment requires that I take out time to acknowledge my problems and seek ways to remain mentally calm. At this period, stepping out to feel nature embrace, reducing the pressures of life. Try thinking about the whole situation, how it began, how I found myself at the stage of the situation, and the way forward. It is also a time to reflect and learn, embracing resilience.

Reflecting on blissful moments, focusing on the flip side of the situation, and concentrating on the end game are vital actions to also consider in a difficult moment.
