Family is not just about blood; it’s about the connection, the understanding, the love we share, the shoulders we lean on, and many more... I share a strong relationship with my family members, no doubt; we all connect and bond well as one family, sharing in both our good and bad days, but then there's one of my family members with whom I have a unique connection. The bond we share together stands out, and I must say that indeed there's beauty in having a favorite family member, and I will share what makes this relationship so special. 🤗
She is my younger sister and our last-born in the family. As much as I am older than her, she surprises me with the well of wisdom she is endowed with, and always speaks to me in a way that pierces my heart, sending me into self-reflection. She is a sibling that knows my weakness and gives me the best advice whenever necessary. We have this mutual understanding, and I feel so comfortable sharing what troubles me with her.
Sometimes I even forget that she is my junior sister. The manner in which she handles her emotions when issues arise is admirable. I have a high temperament, and sometimes I go the extra mile while reacting, but with my sister, I learned how to control my emotions practically. She doesn't romance the truth but always tells me how she sees things raw and pleads with me to change or apologize. Sometimes, I see her as a mother, really beyond a sibling. I just love her and her personality and the way she cares and carries my matter on her head.
Both of us are married, living in our husbands' houses, but yet, the bond is still closely knitted. I got married before her, and while she was still pursuing her academics, she lived in my house. It was then our bond kept growing stronger and stronger. Sometimes, I am left in awe of her personality and the self-sacrifice she put on just to ensure that everything is working well in my home. I find it very easy to relate to her even on private matters, and as usual, she always got my back.
It's really hard to pick her out of my siblings because when I reflect on my close relationship with my other siblings, they are all super healthy and amazing.
