Good day, people of Hive! Welcome to my blog. Today's topic is from Hive Student Connect which says: The One Person You Will Never Forget. So let's dive in.
Honestly, the one person I can never forget, even if I become rich today, is my elder sister, @princessbusayo. I know I have talked about her many times on Hive, but when I saw this topic from Hive Student Connect, that asked us to write about one person we will never forget and what they did for us, I became excited to write about her again. I can write about her a million times and still not get tired. I will forever be grateful to her for everything she has done for me, especially on Hive. She has done so much for me that I can never forget. Although there's another person who helped me on Hive, and that person is @fashtioluwa, but I will focus mainly on my sister because she is the female lead in my life. If not for her, I wouldn’t be earning on Hive today or be financially independent.
I remember about three years ago when she first introduced Hive to me. At that time, I didn’t pay attention to her at all. I was lazy and also scared because I had heard many stories about people being scammed online and how online works are not legit. Even though I loved writing, I wasn’t good at it then. But everything changed on December 31th, 2023. She called me into her room then we where in our hometown celebrating Christmas and New Year, and she told me she wanted to properly introduce me to Hive. Before that day, I always saw her with her phone 24/7, writing all the time. She explained how Hive works and told me that it would help me earn my own money so I wouldn’t always depend on anyone. I was still reluctant, but I decided to give it a try.

She handled everything for me. She only asked me to write simple things about myself, my hobbies, my favorite food, and other basic details. Because my English wasn’t good then, both in writing and speaking, I gave the write-up to her to check. She checked and corrected my mistakes, helped me with the necessary steps, and published the post for me. When she showed me the amount I earned from my introductory post, I was shocked. I never expected such an amount. That moment motivated me to take writing seriously. From then on, anytime I wanted to post, I would first send my write-up to her for correction. No matter how busy she was, she always made time to help me. After about eight months to a year, she stopped correcting my posts for me and told me to start posting by myself. She said that even if I made mistakes or people laughed at my English, I would learn and improve.
At first, I felt she was wicked and tired of helping me. I was angry and hurt and didn’t understand her intention that time. That was when I started sending my posts to @fashtioluwa, who also helped me a lot despite his busy schedule. One day, he told me, Wow, Tosin, you’ve really improved your writing, compared to when I first knew your writing. That made me very happy. I also developed the habit of reading other people’s posts to learn how they write and how they structure their post, that also helped me in my writing. One day, I told myself it was time to fully depend on myself and stop disturbing both my sister and Big Fash. Since then I started posting on my own.
Even then, whenever my sister noticed mistakes in my posts, she would either call or message me to correct them. One day, she finally told me she was proud of my improvement and encouraged me to keep working hard. Hearing those words from her meant a lot to me because I had been waiting for such word from her mouth.
In conclusion, I will forever be grateful to my sister for her love, effort, and support. Introducing me to Hive changed my life. Today, I can earn on my own without depending on anyone and have improved in my writing skills. She is truly someone I can never forget.
