For some time I did not retouch my hair ( apply relaxing cream to it) it was still this natural hair ( virgin hair as it is popular called in Nigeria) but combing my hair was hectic, the pain, the torment, the torture and i decided that enough is enough I am going to retouch my hair even though I do fancy those who has the long, very long natural hair. Then I went to a hair salon and told the hairdresser that this is what I want, this is how I want it done but she wasn't buying my ideas with the claim that she's a professional and in her words
Will you allow me to do my job? This is my job not yours.
This is my hair we are talking about here. I know what works for my hair and that is what I have been using for years, but the lady refused. We went back and forth with the issue and I finally let her do what she wanted because every eye was on us in the salon. On a normal day when I apply the cream on my hair I could go to anywhere and come back, so I had proposed in my heart to go to the market after everything and buy some stuff, to my surprise she immediately she removed the come from my hair after everything the burning started, I couldn't even bear the pain and I asked her to wash it off.
The next day as I was combing my hair it wasn't funny, I found multiple burns on my head. It was so bad that till date I can't comb my hair properly, I had the intentions of going to that saloon to give her a piece of my mind but later gave up the idea because each time I go out like that in my anger it's always disastrous, so I let it go but vowed never ever to go back to that place. Till date I can't do my hair not because I don't have the money for it but because my scalp is on fire and someone's son said I shouldn't barb my hair, the whole of my front hair has become shorter when coming my hair the amount of hair that breaks out leaves me in tears. I have decided to accept my date the way it is, thinking of buying hair supplements which I'll very soon.
Moral lesson
Don't allow any hairdresser or stylist to tell you what they want for you, make sure they do what you asked them to.
