I have used the phrase "I told you so" a lot of times I have told it to my partner, to my best friend, my siblings, and even my coursemates, and at some point, I use it as an escape route from giving advice and consolation because the first one I gave was not adhered to so...... I'm sorry but I have nothing to say because I told you so.

I want to go to the river with my friends, David, my younger brother, told me one evening. I was shocked and amused at the same time because for one we are not allowed to have friends in that area (it's a place we once lived in that you have to be careful because trouble was always lurking around) and secondly, when and how did the thought of going to the river to swim enter his head, who was feeding him with those thoughts? I tried all I could to dissuade him, including the fact that he would get the beating of his life if caught by my father, but he refused simply because he is the last born and mummy's favorite, so mummy would cover up for him.
Although my main reason for stopping him was because I was scared, my best friend died in the river, and it was that same river. Also, I hate it when my Dad is beating any of my siblings, and he (my Dad) also hates it. It's always brutal. On his way with his friend for their jolly swim, my father met him on the way. Why he closed early that day, I don't know to date, and you can help me complete the whole story ....... Ok let me add small to the story in your mind. That day my mum could not save him, he got the beating of his life and he came crawling and all I could say was "I told you so" and he cried himself to sleep on my laps.
I was feeling sorry for him but above all I was glad he did not even get to the river, who knows what would have happened.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. See you soon. 🤗
peace out ✌️
