I always took effort to keep my life tidy and orderly while I was a student at Shalom Academy. From my immaculately pressed uniform to my immaculate school locker, I felt that cleanliness was about self-respect and discipline as much as appearance. I always took my bath on schedule, kept my surroundings neat, and never left my clothes unwashed. I didn't initially give much thought to how my behaviours affected other people. But I started to realise that my classmates were listening. While some were impressed by my constant freshness, others began to question me about how I managed to keep my white shirts immaculate. I would describe to them my basic habits, such as routinely washing my clothes, organising my books, and upholding proper personal hygiene.
I would walk them through my basic routines, which included washing my clothes on a regular basis, organising my books, and practicing good personal hygiene. As time went on, a lot of my classmates began to develop similar behaviours. Others tried to keep their desks tidy, some even thanked me for motivating them, and some started carrying hand sanitisers. I was pleased to know that my little deeds of cleaning had inspired others to practise better self-care. Now that I've looked back, I see that leading a clean lifestyle might have motivated them to improvement.
