Warfare of the future

The Belgian airport of Zaventem near Brussels got hit by a massive cyber attack yesterday. The check-in software got hijacked and is not operational due to ransomware.

Yesterday, today and tomorrow all check-inns happen with pen and paper. This is causing immense delays for every passenger, and half of the flights need to be cancelled.

It hasn’t been disclosed yet how much ransom the hijackers are demanding, but it’s sure that millions of dollars of Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies will be demanded.

This is the warfare of the future in which critical infrastructure will be attacked to force institutions to comply…
