It is not news that good food is good health. I do not know what good food may seem to others but I know that good food is a food that contains essential nutrients that will help the body stay and grow healthy.

There are different kinds of nutritional benefits that foods give to the body, ranging from carbohydrates to vitamins, minerals, proteins and many others.

Most times people consume foods just because they are hungry without looking at the health benefits of this food. Most times we get hungry and decide switching real food for snacks. Sometimes this occurs because we cannot reach out to proper food at the moment so we decide to snack on something instead of keeping the stomach empty.

The question is what do you snack on and do you switch food for snacks all the time. Snacking is good but should not be a regular thing.

In this Blog;

I ate three different kinds of foods, one was a snack though I do not know what others may call it but I call it a snack because I was not full after taking it.

Cornflakes and milk

The snack I took was the cornflakes. It is partially food and partially snacks. The cornflakes was made out of pure corn and is deemed healthy for the body system because it is rich in carbohydrates and some vitamins.

I took mine with milk but I did not add any sugar to it. In the photo above, I had not yet added my water to the mixture but I later added water. I did not take the cornflakes as dry as seen in the photo.

I enjoyed the cornflakes but it did not satisfy my hunger for food therefore, I cooked rice and combined it with vegetable soup. That was how I was able to satisfy my hunger.

The rice and vegetable soup

Later on, I cooked what we call white rice and snail soup. This was very delicious. Snail is very good for the human body system and it helps in building the blood cells too.

Snails have been eaten in this part of the world for thousands of years even by our forefathers and I was born to see people eating snails. The first day I tasted it when I was a little child, I loved it so much and could not go back. Since then I have been eating different kinds of snails.

Over here we have different types of snails and this one I used to cook the soup I used in pairing with rice is called the small snail.

I did not just use only snails to cook this pepper soup, I also used the sardine fish and some scent leaf and onions with enough habanero pepper. The pepper soup was so delicious.

Snail pepper soup paired with rice

I really enjoyed it. After this I ate some garden eggs and drank lots of water. I believe I have eaten healthy or what do you think. Have you tried snails before? I am thinking of trying the water snail too, we call it ‘nkonko’ in our local language. I hope you try some too if you have it in your area. It is not just delicious but has a lot of health benefits.
