Because of some certain things, I have not been at my personal apartment where I live for a long time. Even the interior of my room was filled with lots of unal1fe insects like cockroaches, and centipedes. Funny enough, I am always scared of crawling insects but my younger sister has always been there for me to help me get rid of them. My younger sister also helped me clean all the mess in the house and I couldn't help but be so grateful. Now the room is sparkling neat. It is remaining the compound which is filled with unwanted weeds.

It is only me and my landlady that is living in this house. We do not have any other tenant living here with us. My landlady put the burden of cleaning the entire compound on me alone and this is not getting funny.
I wake up in the mornings and sweep the entire compound. When it is days of sanitation, she will not weed anywhere but will leave the weeding for only me. She claims that the compound is supposed to be kept clean by the tenant, not the landlady.
Most times, I travel out of town for a long time to the span of two months and or even more. The funny part is that the compound will just be exactly how I left it. My landlady makes me feel as if she is not the owner of the house because I do not see why she would refuse cleaning her own compound knowing fully well that I am a tenant and that one day I will move out of her house to another space.
I feel she is acting childish because why on earth would she refuse to clean a compound where she also lives as the landlady. This would have meant a different thing if at all she was not living in that compound with me. I would have been consoled that okay, she is not living there so it is okay for the tenants to clean up on their own.
She called me once upon a time and complained that I have not been carrying out my cleaning duties judiciously and I had to explain to her that I was not at home and haven't been at my personal apartment for a long time. She went ahead to tell me that if I know I will not be steady at home to do my sanitation, that I should pay the sum of N3,000 as sanitation fee. I was wowed because this is a house where I pay over N300,000.00 as house rent and I pay electricity and water bills separately and now she is asking me to pay sanitation fee.
The reason I do not carry out my sanitation judiciously was only because I was not always at home, but I think she should also carry out sanitation in her compound because it belongs to her and knowing the high amount I pay for that apartment. I would do sanitation (clean up which also involves weeding, sweeping arranging and cleaning) whenever I am around.
I do not really know how else to explain to her that I am already paying lots of bills in the apartment and do not intend to incure more bills. I am already financially stressed. She should help clean the compound or we contribute and pay someone to do the cleaning at least I bring N1500 and she brings N1500 and we all breathe. This is what I am currently going through in my new apartment.
