Hello everyone,
Welcome to my blog.

I'm so delighted to share my beautiful skirt, and this happens to be my first experience in making a skirt. I would say the journey was a bit tough, but I scaled through. I was thinking that sewing a skirt is much easier than a free gown, and I realized that making a free gown is much easier.

The fabric happens to be a gift from my close friend, though my sister had sewn hers, but I didn't have time to make mine, so i pleaded with her for mine, but due to her tight schedule as well she couldn't, so i requested for her supervision anytime she's less busy so that I could make mine because I'm still in the training process.

I'm so excited that I was able to complete it, I chose to go for a skirt because the fabric was not enough for the top, with the skirt i can wear it with either black or white top and it will still look amazing.

Materials used

Measuring tape
Scissors
Chalk
Sewing machine
Lining
Zip
I began by folding the fabric into four, with my measuring tape I measured the length, the hips and the waist, and marked them with my chalk, and I sketched out the line for easy cutting, I didn't forget to add my allowance, and finally cut out the waist band.

I now used the already cut fabric and cut out my lining, then turned the lining using the machine, both for front and back . I ironed them, took measurements for the dart, both front and back as well, and sewed it. Since the back was separated, I now joined it, and left the line for the slit, so i didn't join it to the end. I now took the waist band that I cut out and sew the waist band to the zip line then trim off the excess.

I was enjoying every process all the way, and when it got to the point where I got to fix the zip, it was very difficult, because I didn't get the line straight, so i will sew and and lose, up to like three times, i was sweating, so I had to improvise by using the chalk to mark out the line, and that was how i got it correct. When I had finally fixed the zip,I was so excited because it was like I've won a battle, I was so excited and was smiling all through.
Finally I got to join the sides, trying it on, it was a bit tight on me, so I lose it and adjusted it properly to my size. Then I ironed it and my beautiful skirt was ready 💃.

It was quite a beautiful experience, because the outcome was amazing, and I tend to forget the stress I went through in the process, because I was smiling all through.
I would say I'm proud of myself. I get to learn that though the beginning might be smooth, but there is more to it in the middle, and it only takes determination and keeps moving and perseverance to make it to the end, because at the end, the stress and pains will not be remembered. And that everything has its process, and never regret in the process of anything you get involved with because it's a stepping stone to something great.

I can't hold back the excitement, and I can't stop smiling. This was my experience in sewing this amazing skirt of mine😘.

Thank you for reading through ❤️
